If you draw early or late there is no funnier hunt than the Bab.We hunt low every year we are lucky enough to draw.You will see more deer every day as the hunt goes and many days 100 deer or more.As has been said not a 200 inch buck behind every tree.But you will see a lot of very nice bucks.I like the late hunt but don't want to wait 6 to 10 years for a tag,so its my first choice and early 2nd.Have drawn 2 out of the last 3 years early.One 185 28 inch 4x4 and one 7x4 24 inch 160.Just draw a tag and have some fun!!!!!!!!

Any where around the Big Sandy has produced pigs for us,and a few Big mulies over the years.My sons have all killed their first pig and others in this unit.

The rut is winding down up here in 18a.Big bucks are starting to buddy up,some little guys still chasing does.

2008 or 2009 the mullins boys had the gov hunter from az up there kill a bull they named wilbur.He scored over 430 and was still in velvet.Any one remember the date he was killed?I was thinking july but my buddy says aug.Thanks

I had a archery tag that year,and you could not get a game cam on the water he was coming to!!!!!!I have tape of him in a draw feeding and he is a lot bigger on the hoof!!!I glassed next to Jim on a few mornings up there that year.There were many big bulls that year,at least 4 over 400 and 3to5 in the 385 plus range!!!He was the stud of the bunch and I was hoping he would go back to the res till my hunt opened--no such luck!I have not seen any near him this year ----YET,but I will keep looking.I have a muzzy tag this year and have spent a lot of time so far looking.

Before you get to the trail head at the back of fr7 there is a road to the right {don't know the number}it will take you thru the burn to deer tank.

There is a burn on the north side of FR7 great glassing up to deer tank!!!There are some real pigs in this unit but are hard to find,right now they are easy to pick out in the velvet.They will be in more open areas.

Jarred Nickols has killed some brutes in this unit,anyone who lion hunts it as much as he does knows where the big bulls are!!!!

You can do this hunt yourself,and don't even think of a scouting package!!!!!!Most of the guides will never tell you where a good buck is in a scouting package,if they say they have killed bucks there in the past they are lying !!!!Most of the deer are on Black rock and Dellenbaugh.Now you can find great bucks anywhere on the strip Snap,Pakoon,Whitmoore,Poverty,Grand Gulch,Mud Mnt,Grassy,Sullivan,Kelly, Tweedie.In the last 20 years I have seen and had buddies kill bucks over 200 in every place I just named.Water right now is not a problem raining everywhere on the strip.If you see all the guides in one spot they have a boomer picked out,but there will always be another one somewhere else.I have a bud that drew a 13a rifle tag this year,and I drew a bab tag,send me a pm and I might have a couple days to show you around?

Cats range can be huge if the prey base is light or sparce.If you have a lot of cottontails they should have a much smaller range.But with the Toms looking for females in the southern part of the state now,they will travel.

16 a does not produce 180 type bucks,but you might find a 160 if you hunt hard!!!Most of the bigger buck are the southern part of the unit.You will not see a lot of deer in the south,but maybe a good one.My son had this tag about 4 years ago,and he shot a 27in wide 166 inch buck we hunted very hard and passed a lot of smaller bucks.

Its not that hard to get a yote in a cage What is hard all the work you have to put in to the set!!!It has to be Scent proof-no metal smell no human smell.And the right bait and lure scent.I use a 24-24-60 inch cage and caught many yotes in it,Have also caught them in smaller cat cages but the bigger one seems to work better!
