What unit? Not a lot of units produce 90 inch goats. This one looks around 72-74 maybe!!!If you have one with 7 inch cutters and he is 15-1/2--- 16 with good mass your looking at 84 or better.

    Unit 16 A

Honey holes in 16a yea right.I lion hunt all over this unit and there are deer there, but in very small #s.You can find a buck just about anywhere and there is no place better than another.Glass a lot if you find deer sign and keep glassing. Most of 16a is very good to glass a lot of open country.Just about any unit in region 3 would have been better.
  12. We don't need another law,we have more than enough now.Do some guides push the laws or go beyond--you bet.Now if you are spotting for a guide or outfitter or getting a finders fee you need a guide license-this from G&F.I have had many problems from different guides, but I am one of those type guys that makes friction!!!!I have guided and hunted and in many units that have trail cams on every water hole.In 9 a few years back we wanted to get some tape on a big bull the Mullin's boys called Wilber.I had seen him out in a flat and knew he would water on this hole.In the morning no less that 12 trucks came up to check cams, there were 27 on this water. That afternoon 15 showed up to check cams and a couple put up new ones.Bad spot to sit,but just about the time we were going to leave Wilber came in with a smaller bull. Its was very cool to see him.I had a archery tag in there that year he was taken by the gov tag holder a couple weeks later, before my hunt.It seams when a big buck or bull is in an area you can tell by the number of Cams on the Waters? On the strip one of the G&F drinkers had 33 cams wow thats 1 cam for every two hunters up there that year.Even if you have a cam on a water most of the time you have to still go hunt that critter, they tell you he's there but don't put him in the truck!!!!

    12a West October junior hunt

From Jacob's Lake you can take 67 south any of the big parks will have deer in them early and late. The burn on the way down is great. The burn to the north on 89 is also a very good spot.If you want to go farther in take the 22 rd from 67 to the 270 south it will take to the points rds.Deer will be everywhere on the first hunt. All of the points will have water and deer plus on Fire point you just might see a buff!!!

    Mexicali or Nelsoni?

Wow I am still waiting for my first sheep tag,I have a bud that is a golf bum that hunts and he drew his rocky two years after he drew his desert!!!!!
  15. You don't need a scouting report, just talk to Todd Buck he is a wealth of info on his unit.I give you a good strating point, after a couple days the Sowatts road to Kanbab creek rd will be covered in deer! The burn is huge and you will see a lot of deer.Look for water and you will find deer, but many are moving so glass a lot in the burn early and late.I have hunted this with buds and family for many years and we always see a couple big bucks over 200 on this hunt.

    where to start research

Ok here is the stuff for 15cs,the Gm in that unit passed away a couple months back.He was one of the very best--RIP--Gunner!!!!Talk to Erin or Jeff the Bio's in the kingman office! You can find a 150 ram and maybe a 160,but don't set the bar to high in this unit.I live in the unit and over the last 18 years have seen a couple that would go 165 to 170 but not latley.Portland mine rd,Union pass and Mormon springs are great starting points! If you need a hand glassing I have our sheep spotting crew and we find sheep. Most are guys that have killed their sheep and just have the sheep bug.Last year we found a 171 0n the early 15d hunt it was the best sheep taken on that hunt.the hunter missed a 174 and Jeff from G&F killed it in the later hunt!Sheep are easy to spot that BIG white butt sticks out well, and the big yellow horns.Get the best glass you can,and use them !!!!!!!!

    ANYONE GET HIT FOR SHEEP

Of all the archery tags you can draw the strip deer is one of the very best.If you talk to Luke and Brandon you can get some good starting points! Many hunters will be on Black rock or around the bottom of the unit.Lots of guys set up around Oak Grove.Try one of the other areas to get some alone time. Many bucks are in open areas and in groups and easier to spot and stalk.I love the strip and if you hunt up around Black Rock or Mud Mnt be hog aware as you can shoot any you find with any weapon.
