Can you tell me how high this tripod can go. I have a straight Spotter and don’t want to be bending over in in a standing position. Founds the specs online.

Any reviews on Hawke spotters. I looking for a cheap option for the range and occasional field judging.

Looking for a light weight glassing chair that I can pack in. Any suggestions.

That REI Tripod still looks like the cats meow. Going to give one a try.

I'm actually looking at a Sirui T-1204 Tripod.

Thinking of picking up a Ball Head to use with my Bino's when in the tripod. Any suggestions. A Manfrotto model would work best as it would be compatible with my 700RC2.

Comparison with your own eyes is really the only way to go. I just bought a pair of 10 X 42 SLC's after carrying around X 32's for ever. I did not like the FOV and power at closer ranges I usually hunt out east. Returned them for the 8 X 42's. Now If I want something for out west I can get the 12 EL's:).

Bino Harness - looking for recommendations
Tracker12 replied to Cell4soul's topic in Optics and tripods
FHF with there Rangefinder pouch has been all I wanted out of a bino harness. -
I just picked up a pair of Swarovski 10 X 42's and want to set it up for glassing off a tripod. Leaning towards the Outdoorsman adaptor but unsure what head to use.

CJ Thanks for the advise. I ordered the outdoorsman bino adaptor and stud for my SLCs today. I'm going to try it out with the Gitzo tripod and Manfrotto head I currently have. I might just order a manfrotto window mount to start but I have a couple months before my hunt to decide.

I will also be carrying a Swaro ATM 65. Want to be able to spot off the tripod as well as a window mount i have a decent tripod and manfrtto 700 head. To get started I bought the Outdoorsman adaptor and stud. At the least I can configure this to my current tripod.

I live in Maryland but head out west a couple times a year. I have a 3rd season Mule deer hunt in CO Unit 66 coming up and figure I will be doing more than usual glassing.

How is the leg locking mechanism working. Like those better then the twist?

The standard weight 264 came in a 26" stainless steel barrel and was known as the Westerner. SS barrels were not produced in all Pre 64 guns. The Featherweight came in a 22" steel barrel. I have had two of each. Great guns but barrel life can be short. Sold my last a Featherweight 2 months ago.

These are one of the best deals on a scope out there. I put one on a Savage 220 20 gauge and it has held up well to the recoil. -
Looking for a recommendation for a reasonably priced window mount for my SWARO 65 spotter. I had originally thought I would by a Manfrotto 243 to go with my 700rc2 head but realized it would be a pain in the a$$ to take it off the tripod. I'm thinking for in the car a decent ball head would work vice a pan/tilt head.

I picked up a SWARO 65 ATM spotter last year when they were discontinued. Will be using it the first time next week on my elk hunt to Colorado. I expect it all be very different than my old straight Leupold and am hoping someone can give me some pointers. Also I am shopping for a new Head for my tripod. Should my Angle spotter enter into my decision of what to buy? Thanks in advance.

I ordered the 700rc. If it does not work out I'll return it and pick up something else after the hunt. It is my understanding that I should get one plate with the head. At least I hope so. I am pretty excited to be on this hunt. I drew that tag two years ago and had an amazing time killing a pretty good bull.

MuleyJ Thanks for the feedback and tips. I have a very nice Gitzo Tripod that while a bit heavy it is very stable and I plan on using it on this upcoming hunt. My buddy drew the lone Unit 2 CO archery tag and I will be the guide, spotter, caller, packer and what ever needs to be done go get him on a good bull. I will not be carrying a weapon so weight is not a problem. I was looking at the manfrotto 500AH and 128RC and actually last night noticed the 700rc. Would you have a choice between the three?

It's not the call that's bad it's the callers holding them. I carry three different type calls and one is a Hoochie Mamma. Like it or not it has been successful.
