Yeah, I know! By the time I got the camera, it was in the brush! -
Great bull! You are a lucky man! Thanks for sharing!

Great video! Too close too fun!

Hope for snow but not too much...they will close the 300 road. On the other hand a light dusting of snow will always help in tracking! If you find a few sets of big track, follow slowly glassing as you go and you may just get luck! If I can find my maps, Ill send you a PM with two spots that I have seen them!

Wow! very cool! congrats on your bobcat! I got one with a shotgun. Ive only seen a few in the wild, mostly while driving.

Great story! Thanks for sharing! How does moose meat compare to deer, elk, or antelope in AZ? Congrats on your trophy and the memories!

I haven't been seeing anything in 24b. But then again its a new unit to me so it might take a while... Good thing I have until December to scrounge up a buck. Anywhere in the superstition wilderness is GREAT for the december tag! I had this hunt when they gave out a lot of tags. We hiked in a mile and climbed ~1000 feet and had the place to ourselves! My brother and I shot a small buck openning day because temptation got the best of us. We did so knowing that my dad and little brother still had tags! A lot of mazanita bushes to make you bleed and tare your cloth where we hunting! Good luck and you will do fine! Oh yeah, it was very cold the year we hunted so we didnt camp where we hunted.....well, we camped at Motel 6 in globe!

This is a tough and cold hunt! Good luck! Have you done any scouting!

Frustrated Archery Elk Hunter Any advice, words of wisdom
trophyhnter replied to RoughCut's topic in Elk Hunting
Thats the point I was going to make! Good or bad shots dont always result in external bleeding. The bull I shot in 09 dropped withing 50 or so yard of the waterhole and the most of blood was from the bull coughing and sneezing. When we openned him up, all the blood came pouring out...gallons! The shot was right behind the should.....In my mind, a perfect shot for external bleeding. I know the feeling.....Look for birds! -
Great Bulls! The second bull has los of character! Congrats to both hunters!
-
He has no hunting license. He's just tagging along with me on my hunt for the hiking/camping/eating. Make you read my post on the Arizona Revised Statues that I just posted. Lawfully hunting is one of the keys to your question!
-
The only thing you can hunt with a 22lf is some small game! Everyone should read the Arizona Revised Statues when you have questions. Some are difficult to read! http://www.azleg.gov/arizonarevisedstatutes.asp?title=13 I searched for minor and firearms.....Didnt read everything and there may be other sections explain more so read as needed. http://www.azleg.gov/FormatDocument.asp?inDoc=/ars/13/03111.htm&Title=13&DocType=ARS minors and firearms are a BIG DEAL....Class 6 Felony.....Not sure what class 6 gets you! Anyway, looks like some provisions do cover a minor's lawful transportation of a firearm and hunting! Hope this help!

Looks like he is big enough to shoot to me! He does look like an elk in the second pic.

Yeah, you can see the head/ears V on the other doe at the top of the shade patch, above the other one. Fun, thanks for posting!
