Huntn coues

Well the wife has been putting in for early rifle 10 for 15yrs and still hasn't drawn that tag ;( One of my daughters who has already drew and killed 4 bulls ( including unit 8 last year) drew that early rifle 10 tag!! I'm going to pop some popcorn and grab a beer so I can see if my wife starts off with a jab or head butt as soon as Caitlin walks in the door!

Lance you are getting your information second hand on this one seeing that you were not there. The only other hunters that witnessed this hunt were with me and are well respected around the hunting community as well as members on this site. I've been biting my tongue for some time now but can't anymore. The way that hunt went down was hogwash. As you know my wife put the first bullet in that buck and was trying for the follow up shot. My good friend and his son walked over to your guide ( which I believe is your brother) and client to let them know that there was a lady trying to set up for the follow up shot ...and let's just say that I won't repeat what was said to him. There was by far and away no Hunter etiquette on this fiasco. My wife did end up taking a nice buck and is extremely happy with the ending but sure has bad memories of opening morning.

I don't think they hit cards by first round second round etc.... The Draw is 100% done and set in stone before they start processing cards. ( The only exception is the peeps who get rejected for no funds) I think it's just random on when or what cards they charge. Last year we got hit for 2 bull tags and my wife's speed goat tag at the end of the second day. JMO

So long story short if you paid up front and were drawn you have the tag and have to wait for the results to post. If you used a card they have to verify funds and if not there its next in line. The draw as far as who is getting tags is 100 percent complete. Only exception is bad credit cards.

Patrick it doesn't matter what you paid with when you entered the draw. The draw gets processed and when complete they look at your payment method. If you pd cash/check/cashiers check you have the tag, if you used a credit card they attempt to charge that card and if the is insufficient funds they go to the next person in line.

Yes, the cc get charged first then once that is done they post the results. Usually take about a week for the results to post.

Once you find a area you like be sure to sit on for a bit. With as many hunters that will be there the elk move quite a bit during mid day. That's a hunt you want to be sure to pack a lunch and stay out while most of the other hunters are back in camp.

Can be ok but it is much better in late march thru april. Can't figure out why the hunts are so late myself.
