UNSPORTSMAN LIKE CONDUCT!!!!
Gr8 White Jr replied to Buckhunter's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Sorry to here that! I had one stolen last year in 37A. Didn't even have it up for a week and it was gone. I lock mine up now no matter what but as TAM said locks and chains only keep the honest people honest. Truth of the matter is if someone wants your camera bad enough they are going to get it. -Tracy -

Same thing happened to me last spring with the javelina draw. I drew my second choice when there were left over tags for my first choice. I sent an email to all the commissioners and recieved a phone call from one, commissioner Micheal Golighty. He explained to me that it was due to the 20% bonus pool draw. -Tracy

3 Lions in One Picture
Gr8 White Jr replied to jamaro's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
WOW!!! I wonder if those are all adults or maybe a female adult with two juveniles? Either way I bet they are taking their tole on deer aound there. You definitely need to hit that area hard with some predator calling. Definitely a very cool picture! Possibly a once in a lifetime picture. You are very lucky! Thanks for sharing! -Tracy -
While in the woods/desert
Gr8 White Jr replied to KGAINES's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
When out predator calling alone the thought of a lion sneeking up on me freaks me out but that nervousness is all part of the rush! Other than that rattle snakes are probably my biggest concern during the warmer months. -Tracy -
I grew up in Phoenix. My dad started me out with a .22 for my 8th b-day. I shot my first rabbit with it when I was 10. for my 11th b-day my dad bought me my first shotgun, a single shot .410. Only used it for a year and a half before I upgraded to a 20 guage semi auto. We hunted dove and quail religiously every year. I drew my first big game tag when I was 14. It was my last choice and I drew the last tag of that hunt, tag number 50 of 50. It was a unit 8 muzzleloader cow elk hunt. I killed my first elk on the second day of the hunt. I got my first bow for christmas when I was 15. I drew another unit 8 muzzleloader cow tag when I was 16. The hunt started the day after the last day of archery deer season. I killed my first deer with my bow ten minutes before dark on thursday night( the last day of the season) and then shot my second elk with my muzzleloader on sunday morning. Was the best weekend I've ever had. I then drew the same tag the next year when I was 17 and took my third elk on the second day. Three years later when I was 20 I drew an antelope tag in unit 8 and killed my first antelope with my muzzleloader on the first day of the hunt. Some of the most wonderfull memories of my childhood are in unit 8 and that is why it is still my favorite unit today. -Tracy BTW what a great topic!

i been to corner they suck!!! every time i went in there they wanted me to buy a bow, and they take forever to work on stuff. i will never go back to them ever again. and ronda talks S*** behind peoples backs I've been a customer of Corner Archery for about 11 years. I would not continue my business with them if there service was anything but exceptional. I always feel welcome and am treated very well and very FAIR. Their knowledge and service is very up to date and anything they may not know 100% they will do their best to find out for you. I don't think it’s fair to say that they "suck" unless you give a legitament reason for your opinion. Is your reason that, as you stated in your post, every time you go in there they want you to buy a new bow? I know that they may suggest the latest and greatest of all new equipment (that is their job) but they have never tried to push a sale on me. Maybe your reason is that they, as you say, "take forever to work on stuff". Well the way they work is the way any good business should, first come fist serve. If you bring your bow in there to have it serviced two weeks before opening day you should expect that you won't be getting it back too quickly as there is already 500 other procrastinators ahead of you. As the sign says behind their counter "Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on our part." Any time during the year that I have brought my bow into them to be serviced they have always gotten it back to me in a REASONABLE and FAIR amount of time. Over the years that I have been going to Corner Archery I have gotten to know some of their staff including the owner Ronda. Although I do not know her as personal as I do my best friends or family I do know that she is an honest and respectable woman. I do not think it is fair for you to be making such claims as " Ronda talks S*** behind peoples backs" when she is not here to defend herself. Its seems quite hypocritical of you to make such a claim when by doing so you are, as you say, "talking S***" behind Ronda's back. I am not trying to take sides here nor am I trying to be confrontational. I do not work for Corner Archery or have any ties with them that would make me feel the need to defend them. I just know that Corner Archery is run by good people who provide good business. If you have such issues with them then you should try confronting them about it. I can gaurentee you that if they are real issues then the Corner Archery staff will do everything in their power to make it right and earn your business. Just my $.02 -Tracy

I use the NAP Shock Blocker. It adds weight to stabilize but also eliminates vibration. The S-coil is what I originally went with on my bow. It is only a vibration dampener and later I wanted to add a little weight to help stabilization so I switched to the Shock Blocker. Very pleased with it. Cheap too. It all depends what you're trying to achieve. Stabilization, less vibration, or both? I would try several different products and brands to see wich one feels best to you. -Tracy

And your not? I am relaxed as they come. Remember I have a bull tag in my pocket. Anything else will be icing on the cake. Some of us didn't get any cake so we are starving for some icing! -
I finally came across some pictures from a few Christmases ago of my Grandfather's barn full of sheds. My grandfather is the one person I love and admire more than anyone else on this planet. He is one of the last true american cowboys. In 1950, the night he graduated highschool he sattled up his horse and road for the high country to pursue his dream of working the cattle drive. Long story short, he worked his way horse back from Phoenix to Seligman where he aquired a job as a cattleman. He lived his dream life for the next 15 or so years before coming back to phoenix to start a family. Now he is a retired Payson resident and his passion is still to cover miles of country upon horse back so that is what he does. He rides between 3 and 5 days a week and has a new hobby now of collecting sheds. He finds between 400 and 600 lbs of sheds every year which he sells every winter to make room for the upcoming spring of shed hunting. He also finds finds quite a few skulls every year as well. Anyway I thought I would share some of the pictures taken. Keep in mind that the pictures were not taken for the sheds but of my Grandfather and I on Christmas day so sorry there are some left out. You can still see most of them in the back ground. Also keep in mind that this is only one year of findings right before he sells them.

You guys crack me up! Even if this wasn't the greatest hunting site on the web (which it is), I would still spend countless hours reading here just to laugh my a$$ off. The comedy here is priceless! Coosefan, glad everything worked in your favor with your swaros! That is as good as it gets when it comes to customer service. Its too bad that you missed them though after all that wating and anticipation. Oh well, it gives you something to look forward to for tomorrow. -Tracy

I found out when Draw Results will be available!!
Gr8 White Jr replied to RoughCut's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Hmmm.... Very good point Kgaines but if the goal was to hold on to our money to gain interest then the only thing that should be affected would be the date of refunds being mailed out. Then again how would they justify mailing out refund checks in August if the draw was over the last week of June. Who knows! It is what it is I guess. -Tracy
