Here are some pics of my 2006 buck. I never posted them so I figured I would finally do it to pass the time untill draw results are out. I have taken many mule deer but this was my first coues. He is a wierd one! From the time I spotted him untill the time I shot him he was allways facing to my left and I never saw the smaller side. What a gut wrenching disapointment after he was down and I lifted his head to discover his abnormal rack. Talk about going from the highest high to the lowest low but I was still happy to have taken my first coues deer and it was a long and very fun hunt.

Thats the truth! He was by far the nastiest smelling deer I have ever killed.

Yeah I know deformities in antler growth are commonly caused by an injury on the opposite side of the abnormal antler but this buck was an extremely healthy, big bodied coues. He had know injuries, at least that I could tell. He is definitely a strange one!

I agree with that..........but what really gets me upset is the "off-road" quad riders in areas where it's not allowed. There are tons of roads up north that are closed right now.........and it's not stopping everyone! At this very moment there is probably somebody plowin' snow and sage brush with their quad in an area that is closed........and they probably have a 370+ set strapped to the quad! That is what gets them herds split up and pushes the elk out of their winter haunts. That is BS and I hope they get caught! JIM> I couldn't agree more! There needs to be a crack down on enforcement and some really heavy fines. What ever the fines are now, they should be tripled.

Thats right! Because if you were shooting a Mathews you would allready know what was wrong with it......its a Mathews!

I used to shoot a PSE Nova and I had the same problem. It turned out that my top limb was slightly twisted causeing the string to fray in less than 100 shots. Sent it back to PSE and in two weeks I had a brand new bow delivered at no cost except the $15.00 shipping charge. They have the best customer service, at least that has been my experience. Check the limbs. Even the slightest twist that you may not even be able to see may be causing your problem. I would let the one of the techs at PSE take a look at it. I Checked the AZGFD web last night to see if I was drawn for any spring hunts. Javelina was the only thing I was drawn for. I was drawn for my 2nd choice. Too bad because I really wanted my 1st choice hunt but hey, at least Im going hunting. I decided to look up the left over tags for a friend of mine who didn't get his application in before the deadline, and what do I see? Left over tags for my 1ST CHOICE! Why on earth would I have gotten drawn for my 2nd choice if there were still tags left for my 1st choice. I started thinking I must have wrote the hunt numbers wrong on the application so I called AZGFD and spoke to a nice lady in the draw department. She looked up my application and no I did not write the hunt numbers in wrong. I explained to her my confusion. She told me that I was drawn in the "bonus point round" where 20% the tags go to applicants with the highest amount of bonus points. In that "bonus point round" my name was drawn and 20% of the tags in for my 1st choice had allready been taken so they went to my 2nd choice and I was drawn. Even though there was still 80% of the tags left for my 1st choice they gave me my 2nd choice. This makes no sense! I don't know why they even have bonus points for pig. I get drawn every year and the only bonus points that I have are the loyalty and the hunters safety and I was classified as being a high bonus point applicant? This whole draw system makes no sense! The bonus point system went into effect to give hunters a better chance at getting drawn and now its very possible that it can actually work against you. Don't mean to be complaining to every body just wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else. Oh yah, I asked the lady at AZGFD that I was speaking to if they would change my tag since there were left over tags for my 1st choice and she said no they would not. "All draw results are final". What a bunch of BS!

I have to agree with BML and Bow Nut. Shoot as many bows as you can. You will just know it when you shoot the right bow for you. I did it two years ago when I was looking for a new bow and it took me a month and a half to find the right one. It did kind of drive me nuts trying to decide which one I wanted untill I found the bow for me. For me it was an AR, made by PSE. When I shot it I just knew it was the one. Kinda like love at first sight.
