Hunting 36B ,October vs. Early November , can you give some feedback
Zeke-BE replied to NYAZHunter's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Not for 2014 my November hunt was 10-15 degrees cooler then it was in October. But yes you do trade off maybe better cooler weather, and you lose the first crack at them on the first hunt. I hate hunting in the hot heat ! -
^ agree , how does she do?

Well it's a no go for elk for me so all my efforts will be in Deer this year. I wanted to try something new, I always hunt down in the 36s and occasionally 37b and 24b for archery closer to home. But I was wondering about north 24a on the traffic of hunters. I was just up there with the Boy Scouts, and the same time Glassing this weekend. I was also trying to convince the Boy Scouts to go shed hunting for me he he!! Good looking country, closer to home for scouting, but I just don't want to scout in the area where everybody and there dog will be at if I get drawn for this area. Any advice to avoid the heavy crowds I would appreciate it.

First Hunt with My Dog
Zeke-BE replied to AmericanThunder's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
I took my dad out there this fall and met BoB! I'm planning on it again next year with my brothers GSP who at first I called him up and asked if he just went out there because your dogs coat is identical to my brothers. His has the white body and the brown head. Nice job glad you enjoyed it! -

Awesome country and nothing better hunting with your son! -
300 Win Mag rounds. What would you use.
Zeke-BE replied to murfys69law's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Accurbonds!!!! They fly great and penetrate well. Don't use ballistic on an elk especially in unit 10. Most of the hunters I hunt with in 10 rarely get a shot opportunity less than 300 yards. -
Awesome job Adam! Just as crazy of a hunt like the Wyoming antelope hunt!! .

Hunting with an order of protection - Questions/Thoughts needed
Zeke-BE replied to naturegirl's topic in The Campfire
Although you are 10'years older than me, but the best way for me to give "words of wisdom" is to treat you like my daughter. I would tell her, 1st have a friend with you on this hunt, 2nd use that person vehicle to not make yourself noticeable to him, just to advioid any confrontation. Other than that congrats on the hunt and have fun. -
My brother has one and he was going to sell it. But now he sees it as a rare gem and wants to keep it. They are great rounds, shooting about 200 fps faster than a regular .243 and look cool. But if it was me and because of regular .243 rounds are everywhere I would just go with that. People on here will swear by the 243

What do you gain by moving from an entry level bow to a high end set up
Zeke-BE replied to apache12's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
The Hoyt Charger is what I have. It shoots great. The only way you can know if you can do the long shot, when you head to the range and shoot your most capable longshot first! Because when you're out in the field you don't have much time to practice long-range shots. So if you could hit vitals on your farthest shot on the first shot, that means you practice enough that you feel comfortable at that range. If you're trying 70 yards but you can never do it, but you do 60 yards just fine the first shot, then that is your max. I've seen people do very well at 80-90yards. That's why I always practice from my father shot to my shortest shot. But like I said I just got back in the hunting of archery as well so take my word lightly -
My wife be like " if it's not on a beach it's not a vacation". I doubt my wife would take any joy in a shed hunting date . Poor poor poor Me!

***SOLD***Broken down 2004 Ford Powerstroke 6.0 Lariat $4500 Added Ford diagnosis picture.****SOLD****
Zeke-BE replied to bonecollector777's topic in Classified Ads
Ford 6.0 performs really well for a 6 liter. The problem was the new emission laws that took place which caused for the EGR and ford crappy oiler cooler. Those are the two main problems for about 90% of the problems. The EGR was poorly design, it would build up with soot easily and cause head pressure and stretch the bolts and pop the gaskets. Then you had their crappy oiler cooler that was also poorly designed and clogged easily and did the exact same thing. The other 10% is when people chipped it out all the way up ford should of,thought putting in stronger head bolts. But now Ford can't admit to their mistakes or they would have to pay up to all the law suits. Once you get the EGR and oiler cooler fixed 90% of you major problems are gone. If you have the money to head stud them you can chip the crap out of them and they are bad A&& trucks. Mine is,bullet proof but the head studs and it's chipped to a mild performance. Performs great. I've towed with the 7.3 and the 6.0'and the 6.0 has it beat. Another 5-10'years from now no one will be talking about the 6.0. They are only going to remember how awesome the new 6.7 is! -

I used to bow hunt 8 years ago and just got back into it this last year. Bows are like computers, after a few years there are lots of new up grades. I was very impressed with the new bows today. But there is a big difference between a $500 bow and a 1000 dollar bow. Last year my brother bought one of the 500 bow set up and I bought my 1100 bow set up. To say the least he wants to already up grade and he only hunted with it one season. He can only group out to 50 yards while I have no problem grouping at 60 and 70. Just my belief anything past 70 takes a lot of practice. But then agian bow hunters should always be practicing! Good luck! -
It's never to cold for the trout to be biting. April can be a big hit or big miss at times

That's a smoking steal! That would be 12k diesel that is already bulletproof, new FICM, and replaced injectors! I would jump on it but I have a 06 6.0 bulletproof! Works awesome -
