Let me correct that, USDA covers forest land, not state land. Sounds like we are not voting for a single politician in az that stands for hunters rights.
-
USDA has more power than game and fish and ranchers usually get what they want. That and the Navajo nation...

It's sad that people can't leave a man's work alone. I have walked up on trail cameras set up in some far out and ingenious places. Had my picture taken and left the spot alone in respect to the person who got there first and worked hard. Sad that simple respect is so rare these days.
-
Not to get off subject but I have had the same problem on Kenson ranch in 17a. Tinny Kenson owns a few acres backed up to forest service and convinced forest service to close the quad trail circumventing his ranch onto state and forest land he leases. His daughter tried telling my friend he was on "their" land about a mile into the forest.

Anybody tried bone broadheads? Just came across them and they make alot of claims. Thanks for any input.

I agree, my last elk was killed on a fresh water puddle 1/2 mile down stream from a tank. If cattle are around polluting water holes game animals will look for cleaner water first.

Would it be wrong to say hopefully less people are getting into hunting with all the political correctness and idiocracy?
-
Chad should be getting his hunting rights back soon. Sad that the ranch even kept him in as foreman.

Had a guy/kid ask me at work how to put the drill bit in the drill. I took them away and told him he was not smart enough to use it.

BLM Proposes permanent road closures in western AZ
Explorer replied to Sneaker's topic in The Campfire
I wonder if cattle ranchers are still allowed to use the closed roads. And if so do guides working for the ranchers get exclusive access. -
I'm not a fan of guides or utvs and especially people continuously moving to az. But, I have learned some pretty good information about deer and elk habits and hunting techniques from pod casts. It's frustrating to have to deal with the tags getting harder to get and more people in the field. But I will just keep adapting and evolving to continue to pursue my passion. The original hunters used sticks and stones with no shoes to hunt. I'm sure we will be ok. Hunt on.

The open grassland in 19a is not the only place to find antelope.
-
And they leave toilet paper and $hit piles around every camp site. Or dump the tanks from their rvs in the woods or down the road as they leave.
-
Is that the buck that the was just killed by a youth hunter with the donated tag?
-
I love my elbertsock mainframe pack. Can carry a quarter and fits like a daypack. Only complaint is the shelf on the frame gets in the way when climbing downhill through rocky terrain.
-
That's awesome! I spent the last two years of my dad's life trying to get him a tag so I could spend one last hunt with him. He never got drawn before he passed but I will always cherish the hunts I had with him and all he taught me. The rifle he left me will be in my hands on every hunt from now on. Hope your hunt is a lifetime of memories.

Something bad is gonna happen one day due to camera theft and game and fish is going to do something as a result to hurt us all because of it.
-
On a side note I'm gonna buy a Remington 700 muzzleloader that can shoot twice as far as a cap and ball muzzy.

Cold smoked trout is amazing. Can't store it long enough before it all gets eaten!

Proposed rule change - no archery hunting in 1/4 mile of residences

Same rules in units around prescott after someone shot a liberals pet deer and gutted it in the park in the developement. -
It's all good. I found a safety pin.

So if you are a less than average hunter and you use a cam it makes you average? my point was any Yahoo can slap a cam on water and call it good. But doing your homework and putting a cam in a strategic place besides salt of water is a better strategy to keep on the game and not have to post sob stories about theft and multiple cameras on water holes. People can't even dispose of toilet paper in the woods properly. Do you think they are going to give a crap about your gear strapped to a tree?
-
I enjoy cams and use them other places besides water so they won't get stolen. This new regulation only affects the less average hunters anyways.
