If you can see or hear someone your not camping. Just parking in the woods. Nothing beats getting away from human and machine noise. Breaking a sweat with a pack on your back and having a chunk of nature all to yourself is priceless. And that drink of whiskey after you take your pack off is heavenly.

where do you come up with this!?? I've carried both bow and rifle many a times - there is nothing illegal about it. now had you added - during a bowhunting season - maybe but here agin there are many hunts going on - if you are in the field during a bow hunt with a bow only tag - then perhaps this warden could interpet some violation but it's noncence to say you can't carry a rifle and a bow while hunting please find out which warden stated this information now if the question as about the new law where they specifically stated that during the bow hunts down south where you are carring a pistol for personnel protection during an archery season then here if the question was asked about carring a rifle instead of a pistol - then the way its stated - no rifle the question was asked if you could carry a rifle for bear during archery deer. I answered it. I don't know where the misinterpretation came about.

Well LE officers do alot of things that bend the law. As long as they write the report the way they want it to be interpreted the judge usually takes their side. Not to get off subject but is the average citizen allowed to Taze someone who won't shut up and listen? No. That's a crime for us. Not them..oh boy I'm gonna get an ear full but the facts are what they are.

It was a hot topic last year during hunter safety. The warden who came in said a small sidearm is acceptable and even warned that different wardens will give you a hard time. He said he would not say anything as long as the barrel length was 6 inches or less. But if you had a contender or something similar he would write a citation. Game and fish cannot stop us fro protecting ourselves. He went as far as to tell us shotguns for dove have to be locked up while bowhunting.I wish they had a better definition in the regs

You can carry a handgun while in possession of a bow. Not a rifle.

Just need to find cows instead of bulls.

Taking my 11 year old up there in two weeks. Have only seen bulls on my scouting trips. Should be fun.

I like ground blinds and pop-up blinds. Both have pro's and con's. Popup blinds can get hot. Ground blinds take time to build and don't provide max cover.

There are great animals in any unit you are willing to work hard in.Good luck to all tag holders. Next post will be a bash on someone who shot a spike that surely would have been a 180-200 buck.

I was out yesterday.only got two birds but that's because I was trying to get my 11 year old some shots. You don't need a dog. Most places I hunt you would end up with a one eyed dog due to cactus anyways.

Get a entry level bow that has good ratings and then buy the best rest and sight you can. After arrows and broad heads, targets and all your still gonna spend 7-8 hundred bucks to get everything you need.

Curious if these mounts I have seen in the last couple days are just the rack sections of the mounts or a complete mount?
