I hope you guys are a decade or two behind us on hunting losses. It's a heck of alot cheaper for tags for residents and alot of over the counter. Wish it was not so cold up there or I would convince my lady to move.

The ORO has fired Chad Smith. The new manager is allowing a limited number of youth hunters on for free now. Not sure what all they are going to change. That being said the multi unit is the best example of game and fish and ranchers creating such a mess. The hunt started to reduce numbers in a area that historically did not have elk. And reduce impact on ranch land. Well, the Yavapai ranch is mainly the only ranch open. All others are locked down for the guides only. Allowing elk tags in 18b is dollar bills right in the pockets of the guide controlling the ORO.

Checker boarding state land is a result of the railroad companies back in the day. Wonder how much it costs in signs to post such a large chunk of land.

I don't think it sound safe to put that many cow hunters together in a smaller area. My first 10 cow tag had 150ish tags total. But that was before what really is ruining hunting moved here. Still wondering what the chop on goat tags is gonna be for 10..

Reminds me of the time I ordered 120 bucks worth of sushi and the power went out in half the town. Luckily those smart Asians had a carbon machine for credit cards. Luckily I had real money in my pocket and didn't have to wait in line with all the crybabies. It's convenient but not always going to work. Every time some glitch happens in the game and fish's new matrix this place turns into the Jersey Shore show.

Yeah I was looking at how many hiking and biking guides there are in Sedona area alone.

Electronic is nice until everyone's grandpa get citations for not knowing how to do it. I know old boys who couldn't even figure out online applications and gave up hunting. Certain things belong in hand like money and hunting tags women and whiskey.

You have to remember that the forest service is full of libtards. I am not a fan of guides but it is a small stab/step at restricting hunting by the anti hunters it looks like. Or some of the existing guides put some ideas in the right ear to mafia the area....

I am glad they reduced some tags that would matter if the ranch switched to guided only status. State land is only open to person's with proper permit. A hunting license is a form of such permit. Camping and target shooting as well as prospecting are not allowed.

Trail cameras were awesome when they were trail cameras. Not the water hole Mafias that they turned into. I can see hunters in the future using them to "watch their blind " and people running cameras in units they don't have tags and having a buddy in another unit who does the same.. Curious if the strip is going to look like mad max with guys going to collect and or smash all the cams that litter every puddle. I'm also curious if there are any documented offenders being punished in states with laws already in place regarding cameras.

I don't mind mandatory reporting. Or a draw. I don't want my tags and hunting paperwork to be digital though. I can only imagine the crowds down south due to the units up north getting shut down. Imagine how us guys up north feel having nowhere to hunt. And up here the mule deer rut is best the week or so before Christmas so we don't care about January as much as the southern zones do. Then again a draw might aslo force pressure into areas that normally had a small group of dedicated successful hunters.

Same set up I have. 20 bucks for a adjustable temp controller. We got home at 1am one time and put my brothers whole cow elk in it. Hide head and hooves intact. Could fit 3-4 elk stacked that way. Best part was I got it for free from a church camp I work at occasionally.

Spent 2 weeks hunting around williams on a late archery hunt. Lots and lots of big healthy coyotes. Saw a couple fawns but not many. Decreased otc hunts will help rifle hunts. Lots of factors take out deer numbers. I hunted archery in 17a alot back in the day and there were deer everywhere. And not much pressure. Then the limited opp. Elk hunts started and people found the deer hunting was better than the elk hunting and it is all shot to heck.

Elk hunt starts the 12th. Having problems sleeping. Have to stop myself from loading up and heading out 2 weeks early. Keep shooting targets and doing pushups.
