Danny, I'm sure you do miss it. Are you coming back soon? It does favor the Breshears' buck. I think it's the same general area or at least within 4 or 5 miles.

Question for all you bear gurus
ScottAdams replied to BML's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Follow the food to find the bears. Yes, they do prefer acorns over prickly fruit. Come October I would glass and then call. You'll get one!!! -
I went out to check Camera #3 today. I put it out on June 29 and haven't checked it until today. Surprisingly I am getting a fair amount of Coues buck activity on it but unfortunately the bears are pretty thick in here also. One ended up knocking the camera to the side where it pointed at the ground so I only got about a week and a half of shots. This is definitely one of the biggest bears I've seen around here for this time of year. He looks like he's ready to hibernate tomorrow! I've hunted bears since '95 and been in on about 8 kills that were either spot and stalked or called in and just seen dozens of others but this big rascal is downright obese. What a monster!!! Monster Bear

Very nice bear. It looks like The Claw did it's job.

Thanks for all the comments. Blake I didn't see any tracks, it had been 4 weeks since the video was taken. Bret the boys are setting up a hunt to go in there and roust him out. They are tuning their and bows and figure this bear, which by the way I have named "Kong", would be a great warm up hunt for their archery bull hunts next month. I been tellin' ya Simon that you need to come up. Hopefully I'll check on the camera again this weekend.

I checked the camera yesterday afternoon and had some interesting video. Unfortunately no big bucks. Here's a night shot of a bear coming through. Black Bear/Black Night Here a Mountain Lion came in for a drink Monday morning. Mountain Lion This elk came in to drink 30 minutes after the lion. She was a bit jumpy. Cow Elk I call this one "Jumpy Buck" I think the flies were biting him. Jumpy Buck A couple of bucks. 2 Bucks

Yea there is. I've had some good rains where the cameras are setup. Plenty of good feed and water for growing horns.

Good Luck Danny! Waiting to hear the hunt.

Gino, don't throw the card away. Do a google search on SD recovery or something like that and you can download a program that may be able to recover the pictures. It worked for me once.

The buck that got away.

Wow! What a heartbreaker! Looked like a shooter to me. I certainly would have dropped the hammer on him given the chance. -
We'll keep 'em coming Jeff! Thank you for your service to this great country!!!!

I have a high end digital camera, Leica Digilux II and it reads the SD cards from my Covert II just fine but not the videos.

I went up this afternoon to check my camera that sits on the tank. I'm going to Texas tomorrow and won't be able to check again in about 2 weeks. As I expected there was very little activity on the tank. I didn't get any Coues deer and only two bull elk. I'm pretty sure I know where the Coues deer are watering but like I said it will be a couple of weeks before I have a chance to move it. My boys may move it for me, but I'm not holding my breath. Probably August before I check the other 2 cameras also. Here's a still from one of the videos. Elk I Elk II
