I think they shed the velvet in August.

You got it Phil!! Brent, it does look decent. The early elk hunt for this area is next month so we'll see if he survives.

That's a monster. The bears on my cameras are at 6,500 ft. Haven't seen any lower.

Had some good photos before the Monsoons hit and the tank filled up. Nearly took out my camera. Luckily it was about 8 inches higher than the spillway or I would have lost it. Got my first trail camera mountain lion on this setup. Small Coues buck working toward the water. 4 Coues bucks hitting the tank. Nice Pose!! Nice evening shot. A coyote making his rounds. This bull came in one night and has some pretty neat looking tops on his antlers. There is an elk hunt in this area next month. Here comes the rain!!! You can see in this photo the water level is already way up! A mountain lion on a nightly run. This may be the one I saw at another tank about a mile away back in May. Here is a picture of the tank as of July 5. It's full to capacity and the camera is now pointing into the middle of the tank that was the shoreline just a few days earlier. I moved the camera to a different tree to take in the new shoreline but really I don't expect much activity on the tank until the monsoons let up some. There is water everywhere and all the tanks are full!

Thanks. I sure am becoming addicted to this.

Those are some really neat pictures Amanda. What an assortment!

I haven't had any problems with leaks. But since the monsoons started I've only checked this one camera. I still have 2 out that I haven't checked.

Well thank you! It was a pleasure to meet you also. Your dad is a good man!! I wish all my people were like him.

I hunted unit 26 several years ago on a rifle hunt and found Coues and Mule deer. I took this Muley south of Lordsburg. I'll see if I can get you some directions to where both of the species were located. PM me.

Well the boys had archery pig tags this January for unit 27. We decided to hunt here from the house. We have lots of javelina and plenty of muleys running around that time of year. Here the boys and one of their friends are up on the red bluffs behind the house. We didn't spot any javelina looking this direction only mule deer. I began glassing the other direction and located a herd of about 15 javelina and a couple of small Coues bucks. The boys executed a textbook stalk a pulled off a double. Packing out them nasty things. We hung the mighty muskhogs up in the garage and our Boston Terrier, Winston decided to give us a hand skinnin' 'em.

A very nasty monsoon storm struck our property today. We could see a wall of white advancing down the canyon toward the house. It hit us hard with hail and gale force winds. We could see our lawn chairs being blown into the canyon. It wasn't until after the storm had passed that I noticed our camp trailer upside down on the hillside. Pretty much totally demolished although I may be able to salvage the frame to make a utility trailer. Now what to do for the boys elk hunt in 2 1/2 months.

Thanks for the comments. Everyone is ok. Thank goodness no one was in it. It was an older camp trailer, a 23 footer. We were going to sell it after the elk hunt and upgrade to something a little nicer. No I didn't have insurance on it so I'm just out the trailer. The house fared well during the storm. All 46 windows are intact. Thanks for the offer to borrow, we'll see what I can come up with between now and the hunt. The boys drew Archery Bull in Sept. unit 27.

I retrieved my camera late last week from the tank and found a bear had ripped it from the tree breaking the strap tabs off and bitten a hole in the case. I quickly called Amanda and arranged to pick up another camera along with a bear box to protect this new one. It's up there now and I'll check it later this week. Here's some of the photos. Here's a mug shot of the suspected bear. Amanda is also setting me up with a new case so the 3rd camera can go to a new location where I saw this brute about 6 mos. ago.

I'll keep that in mind.

I had my camera setup for video last week and got some pretty good footage, about 140 videos in all. Here's one of the bucks starting to put on a little horn. Starter Buck Bulls ready to quench their thirst. Thirsty Bulls A closeup of one of the bulls. Closeup Bull Two Coues bucks watering with the elk. Coues & Elk

Really Great pictures Doug!!! You've outdone yourself this time!!!

Awesome pictures. I can only hope I don't see that coming thru one of my honey holes but if I did, I had a couple of folks with dogs that were ready to go at a moments notice if the sorry things were in season. Very good photos!!

I didn't notice him on any footage from last week. Some of the bucks didn't come in real close though. I'm watching for him.

Glad you guys like it. Should be interesting to see what these animals grow into horn wise.

Thank you. I have it low because it's on a 3 foot juniper tree which is in the best location to get the photos I'm getting. It seems to be working rather well. My other camera is about 6 foot off the ground. One of the problems I've found with setting them up on tanks is finding a suitable tree in the best location to get the animals coming in. I've even mounted it a boulder before.
