That's funny Lee. Who would've thunk it!!! They were fun to go out with and I think both of them do have the bug now. Next on the list is deer!!

Great story and hunt. Awesome that y'all were able to go 3 for 3. What an exciting hunt. Well done!! Thank you Cody for helping them out.

I took these pictures this morning. We got a light snow but it surely prettied things up.

Thank you all. I didn't do much on this hunt just along for the ride. Joey Molina was the primary helper on this hunt. Elkaholic they mostly eat roots around my house. There are prickly pear patches in the area and I'll see them eating the pads but mostly they dig up roots. Out elevation is about 5000 ft. and the javelina are everywhere in this area.

One of my wife's former students took her first javelina this morning here by the house. Felix is junior in high school and my wife had her in her class in the 7th grade. She shot her javelina at 87 yards with a .243. Felix was even the one that spotted them. She even had a little training in the fine art of "gutting". After the gutting Felix even threw that stinky rascal over her shoulder... and packed him out hiking up a near vertical ridge! Congratulations Felix on a very successful first hunt!!

Just got a few drops of rain, enough to spot the windows. Never even got cold enough to snow Doug.

Very nice Jason! Looks like you're in for a fun year of keeping tabs on the Goat and setting yourself up for next year's hunt. Keep us informed.

We've got a bunch of 'em on the south end of 27. I think upper Eagle can be hit and miss.

Great story and writeup. Very nice to live the hunt through your story at 3:30 in the morning. Sweeeeet!! -
We hit 2 below this morning. Had one pipe freeze up but put a little heat on it and it's back to flowing again.

Welcome to the site CNE. That's a very fine buck and defiinitely one to be proud of. Welcome also to the growing ranks of Coues hunting fanatics. You'll find on this site that there are still plenty of those willing to cross the border and pursue Coues deer with our neighbors down south in spite of the violence. There is also plenty of excellent hunting on this side of the border as well. Glad to have you and congratulations on your buck!

The snow all melted off yesterday and now a storm just pushed thru and dropped another inch. It's now 12 degrees and holding.

I'm sorry for your loss Tony.

My Boston's love the snow as long as they aren't in too long. They had a good romp in it today.

Thanks, we really do love it out here!

Amanda, maybe we should do something like that. Ronda and Paul can take photos and you and I can hunt!!

I love that buck. I love nontypicals! Congratulations on a very nice buck. Good luck on your studies also. -
The hunt was great!! We had a blast and even though we didn't see as many deer as last year we still had a great time and were able to locate and take Amanda's buck that we had been watching for a couple of years waiting for him to grow up. We love hunting these little Coues deer, it's an addiction!!! One of my favorite photos of the Puzzle Rock Buck. I was telling Amanda that I haven't checked the camera since before she killed this buck and probably have some pictures of him in the hard horn on it. I'll post them if I do. Congratulations Amanda on yet another beautiful buck!!

I had mine done in 2001 by Barnett Delaney Perkins and it was worth every cent. I had absolutely no side effects and my vision has been 20/20 since. I had horrible vision before, my contacts were 960 power. Do it!!
