I love these threads about random elk sightings. Friend of ours has found elk sheds on top of new river Mesa as well
-
Wildwoody did they just follow the verde south? I'm assuming just a random sighting or two in winter??
-
Makes sense! Easy to rub their antlers on those downed trees and the jumping over them prob helps rattle them off as well
-
That's awesome! I hope you glassed up that deadhead so you didn't have to hike through that mess
-
Haha no way! I'd be much happier hunting the otc units and waiting for a good rifle tag!
-
Beats all of mine! Nice!

Dont forget the two "hunters" who poached deer in buffalo park last year. They were shot in season but in a closed area and left for people to find. Pretty frustrating, I'm sorry to see 11m change to a draw but there's still plenty of areas to hunt around flag.

I saw that too! Had me scratching my head as well

Really ivhunter?! In my neck of the desert I've yet to see deer anywhere close to donkeys. Cows on the other hand are a different story
-
Another increase in my home units. That's up 125 tags in the last 4 years that I've been paying attention.
-
My pile so far! Minus one other tiny raghorn I hung up at my dads house already.
-
Awesome video and great country out there!
-
Awesome desert bucks!

That's awesome!! -
Just curious if anybody on here knows how the lucky tag holder did? Always curious about the hunts in my hometown area! Thx!

I've been out a handful of times, hiked probably close to 50 miles and only come across an old rag horn and a coues shed. Saw 2 nice 5x5s out running around yesterday still

Son of a!!! That's freakin unreal!
-
Holy shoot....that's awesome
-
Any way we could see some pics? Congrats to your friend btw!

You know I want to say I read an interesting article about this man and his monster buck. Wasn't it shot, stolen by the taxidermist, and then returned to the owner like 40 years later??
-
I hear ya there. Elk are elk and go where they please! I've found sheds in pines and in praire meadows, just gotta hike, hike, hike!
-
What if it hits hard and they move to the flats then melts off and never returns? Do they stay in flats or move back up? 50/50?
-
Hahahah a that's hilarious how did I miss that?!
-
Nice one! Beats the one I found today for sure! I did find some cool petroglyphs though!
