Avoid 23 and 9 and apply for an early archery hunt again. you've come too far to cave for a poor unit or late hunt. You should be able to draw some good early hunts with 12.

I broke down and put in for a late archery hunt. Im getting too old to wait 7-10 years between tags. So I drew the late tag in my home unit and the wife drew the early archery tag! Going to be some fun!

Bingo! It actually gives some people an opportunity they wouldnt otherwise have. And it will not draw the big money due to the fact that its a regular or almost regular season. Put simply, its worth some money for sure but not hundreds of thousands like the current raffle tags.

CAPAZ is a 501C4 organization. I believe this means there is no tax write off. And GreyGhost85, if you want to influence others to take the side you support, there are better ways. In talking to many AZ outdoorsman in the last few months, most Ive talked to are pro CAPAZ at this point. Lets look at facts and not just purely from an emotional standpoint. I agree with the fact that many of these tags will be of little interest to the rich if they do include regular season, and antlerless tags.

Interesting. They say that zero dollars will go back to the organization. Who knows where the truth lies. I do know that Pete Cimarello has been involved in AZ wildlife for many many years and had a good track record.

True. However you're beating a dead horse. Commissioner Davis took that option off the table at the end of the meeting on Friday. The individual at the beginning also made it clear too that after all the work to get the pricing down, he doesn't want any increase. The problem is that they cant use those monies for education about hunting. And for battling against animal rights groups. Based on the current talk (Im aware it can change). Theyd have tags available for raffle across all the species. Even have some antlerless tags included. They would also be for the regular season (not 365 like the commissioners tags). By spreading over several species and seasons, the impact on the draw would be extremely limited. Nothing has been formalized as far as I know, so I will reserve my support until we see the full package. That being said, right now I have zero problems with the proposed plan of action. I do believe we need to have money set aside to fight back for our hunting privileges .

You might want to hold off on sending those appreciation emails until after the tag grab is settled unless your all for it then by all means send them on. I disagree One Battle at a time thats how you storm the gates! Lets enjoy the victory but prepare for the war!I sent a Thank you email saturday too each commissioner! Commissioner Davis emailed me back and said after an exhausting day friday it made his day to wake up and read my email! SirRoyal! I hope you also sent an e-mail to Commissioner Davis asking him why he would automatically propose a no increase in license fees in order to fund the education battle as we all know the raffle tags issue will be the next Battle. I see this one will be much more divided than the trailcams. Many are in favor of the raffle tags provided they are prescribed in a reasonable way. At this point they are talking about less than one half of one percent...

Wow! Helluva long read! Too bad Im late to this party. I have my own views of 777 based only on communication here. I am interested in an actual story though and havent found one yet. Can anyone post it up?

It’s all about the weather. Pray for continued dry conditions. If that happens, find the right water and sit your butt there until it happens. If it’s wet, your chances go way down, but hit the big canyons and do a lot of glassing! It’s tough, but very possible.

I agree with the others BTO or Koury. Cant go wrong with either.

Ill be there with my two youngest this year. First hunt for both of them! They do a tremendous job at these youth camps and I would encourage anyone to give them a try. Your kids will love it!

4b archery tag!

My 10 year old daughter will be using the .243 this year on her elk hunt. This will be her first time using a big kid gun and shes pretty tiny. I know the .243 will work, especially since her shots will probably be under 100 yards.

Found a nice one on Saturday and saw two bulls with one antler a piece and one bull who had lost both. Theyre just getting started.

I was in for archery only. Put in for 10 and 4b and had 8 points. Time will tell!Pretty close to bonus pass for 4b. I'd bet 4b. No, Im talking about for the lope hunt, not elk. The draw odds are worse for 4b, than 10. But, Im guessing I got the 4b tag. Fine with me! Unit 10 can be kind of a zoo.
