Do it on Friday ... Several years Back I drove to the Location to drop mine off , thinking I would beat the mail... since the rules stated that apps "could not be received by G&F before that Monday" ... Well I beat the mail and the lady told me, that my app would be thrown in with the rest they were picking up that morning at the PO box. She said in the future just mail it on Friday since they do not do a pickup after noon on Fridays nor on Saturday's and it would be in the pick up on Monday morning...

All you have to do is read the regs .. A little Tip when reading online use ctrl + f to find what you are looking for throughout all pages ... IN this case ... ctrl + f (Leftover) first thing to pop up ... "First come permits are issued if available and will sell very quickly. Applicants are advised to check with the Department before submitting an application for leftover permits. No person, including Youth, may submit more than one valid application per genus for the First Come process, with the exception of javelina (see the javelina bag limit description). A listing of leftover permits is available online at www. azgfd.gov under “Big Game Draw” or at any Department office. To submit first come applications by U.S. mail only, please send to: 5000 W. Carefree Highway, Phoenix, AZ 85086, ATTN: DRAW/FIRST COME."

He does resemble the Good Ole Corn Bagger .... Wonder if the cams are in 27

Seen them on All the Salt River Lakes , Though at Rosie it was on the west side across from the young turn... Canyon has always been the best IMO to find them though

A tarp system is often used in conjunction with a bivy ... Integral has some real nice setups a little pricey but very good ... I now prefer Hammock sleeping when it can be done and always keep a tarp just in case.

I messed up my wife's application! Need help in 36A
Str8Shot replied to Big Browns's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
36A first hunt should not be a problem ... A couple scouting trips and getting up there a day or two early and you will find some decent bucks... Our posse of 12 - 15 will be in B across from you in Oct. Always some decent bucks to be found in that Unit and does not need to be December to find them. -
I had a friend with epilepsy and I am pretty sure Keto was the diet his parents put him on to help reduce the number and intensity of episodes... That was over 25 years ago... If it is the same diet it has been around a long time

Did not have to worry or guess this year ... a Big group of us are going down south This year ... 36B Oct.
-
As stated, seen some Stud Bulls running around and a few Bucks but not a lot ... It has been pretty dry the last couple months but the early rains seemed to keep things pretty green in most the units I run around in ... Have not been south Yet this year but the Units I hunt, have been seeing A little more rain than the valley and last I looked were about average.

Great Truck, but even with the maintenance to get her to the current 265,000 no way would I spend close to that much over KBB ( excellent condition) price. Good Luck

Pop Goes the Weasel... Goes the Weasel... Goes POP ! I have only seen them around the White Mountains but would guess they are a little more spread out than that. Have seen Badgers ( in the weasel family ) in pretty much every elevation from the southern border to the Canyon !

As far as the FRS radios you can use other brands with the Rinos. You may have a limitations on which bands you can use or scrambling for privacy ... But yes they can work. I have never heard of others being able to poll your locations.... You add your members to the group and they show on a side bar that lets you toggle between them , and on your showing locations ... Until they have been added they can not poll you as far as I know. However, If an individual is on the same channel, code and scramble setting ( never ran across it yet ) they can broadcast a poll and you will be given the option to add them to your group.

What would you guess this scores?
Str8Shot replied to PelaPapas's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Like many others would say mid 80's to about 90 ... As long as he was tasty is what really matters anyway! -
If you watch the sales you will find the 650's under $400 .... Several of us upgraded last year when they were around $350

And Making a Good one Shot kill that drops it in its tracks will make a difference ...

Most of the guys I am out hunting with have Rinos .... A bit pricey but lots of benefits when you all have them... The biggest IMO is Polling and knowing exactly where everyone is at ... can send texts and way points easy ... can see what kind of terrain you are going to be facing humping across the land to meet up. Range is very effective and only places we have seen issues any FRS is would have issues in.

I bet this guy would not stand for this kind of nonsense ... If his take on getting rid of crime and drug problems is an indicator. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2016/07/01/the-controversial-new-president-of-the-philippines-is-now-urging-the-public-to-kill-drug-addicts/

I have a son that just turned 18 and daughter 21 ... They both are optimistic of having success in life, but not do to any thing they learned through public education or our media. They have both worked since 16 . since about 10 Other than Gifts anything expensive they wanted they had to save up and pay 20% out of their own pocket. The Ex and I found out, when they have the concept of their time and their money as part of the investment, things are better taken care of. They understand the concept of budgets and saving and not getting in debt (The Dave Ramsey Way)... and neither are afraid of hard work or trying and failing. My daughter will be done with school in less than 6 months working in a field that starts in the 60k range and will not have any school debt. She is very optimistic and set to work hard in order to save to the point she can enjoy life without having to go into debt except possibly a mortgage. My son has decided to take a year of prerequisites at a CC before Joining the Navy but he also understands the choices are his. They understand actions and consequences ... taking responsibility for bad choices and to not fear failure but learn from it. In the current economic and social atmosphere of our country I do not think I could expect anymore from them at their ages.

A Land of Too many laws... Laws that have the primary purpose to grow and expand the niches for lawyers and corporate elite .. Too many lawyers (mostly liberal democrats) forming (not in service of) a government to control the people. Not a government indentured to the people, as it should be. Not a government to represent and speak for the people, as it should be.. A government lobbied by to many corporate dollars to make a free people, unknowingly, indentured servants... each person becoming a monetized commodity.. New generations Distracted by social programs that take away personal responsibility and consequences, blur the value of hard work and success, while tainting the difference between winning and losing. A government and media that forms a culture of social indifference and division as a means of distracting the populous from the reality of what their freedoms have become. IMO everything is not peachy and great and we are not a better nation than we were 50 years ago and we will never be until we see massive change. Slavery never went away.... only the masters have changed and minorities are no longer alone in the chains.

Makes you wonder if old corn bagger ever tried to put a trough of beer out next to his corn for some Kobe Venison?

Bucks and Bulls taken in the Rut are generally more gamey ... It has to do with the hormones flooding their system and staying in the meat when killed ... If They have a big swollen neck they are going to have a more gamey taste. The older the Bull or Buck and how long into the rut is also going to make a difference. Key is quick clean dressing, cooling and hanging. As mentioned above there are methods to help reduce the gamey taste but it will never be as good as a cow, doe or young spike Bull or Buck !

I use my Garmin mainly for hunting and fishing, and when I log a waypoint I also try to remember to put it in a Log with specific information like time, date, weather and moon phase. What I would like is a GPS that when I make a waypoint it allows me to add meta data automatically to it (time, date, current temp, barometric pressure, and moon phase ) Not just a little comment ... I do not think there is anything out there that has a feature like this, but I think it would be a great addition to have. what do you guys think, what additional features would you want on your GPS?
