For years it was a Sierra .243 85g bthp or 100G Nosler Partition when I had a mule deer tag. I later switched to at 270 WSM and shot .277 140G Accubonds. I bought myself a retirement gift and this year I shot a buck at 248 with a 6.5, 129G SST. For coues/mule deer I would just shoot whatever load I could work up that shot the best.

Nice bucks congratulations

Yesterday’s 150 yard coldbore shot. Browning XBolt LR 6.5 Creedmore. The shot shows at 9 o’clock but is actually at 12. My picture rotated left

I have the Browning X bolt long range 26” bbl in 6.5 Creedmoor which is the same as the heck’s Canyon without the pretty gold tint. It shoots good with Hornady ELDX 143 gr but others not so much. Loud as poop with the muzzle break. I like my 700 in 270 WSM better.

On the west the roads I have experienced getting muddy are 232, 236, 292, 440 and 416 but even these don’t get too bad.

Their firehouse cargo pants are on sale 30% off. Good cargo pant with a little extra room all over. Very durable. Normally around 70 bucks and now 48. I just bought 2 pair

Way to hang in there and get it done! Congratulations -
My son purchased a Christensen Arms Mesa in 6.5 Creedmoor and a Leupold VX3i 4-16, 1” tube scope. Can anyone offer experienced recommendations on what rail (if any) and which mounts to purchase? thx, Ed

He ended up buying the Talley lightweight rings. Thx

Is it sold or still have it? Very interested

I was planning to head up tonight but called it off. Can’t justify driving 9 hours for a bird. Good luck to those that travel.

I did the same thing but cost around 700 since I rented a sprayer at Home Depot. It turned out great and I’m not a painter.

Browning X-Bolt heck's Canyon Vs Christensen Arms Mesa
Ed67 replied to DialITin's topic in Long Range Shooting
I have the browning x-bolt LR and it’s basically the same rifle as the hella canyon with a different finish. The 26 inch barrel makes it a tad bit heavy for packing. Good luck with your choice. -
Do you still have this rifle and are you willing to sell the scope?

Me and the kids have killed a lot of deer with 35.5 grains of IMR 3031 and a 100g Nosler Partition. Anything you choose will likely be fine. Good luck!

I’ll take it. Sending pm
