how many pellets are you getting in a 10" circle with these loads? the Hevi-Shot Magnum Blend 3" should work well with your set up. what chokes do you have with the new barrel? did it come with the xx full choke? you may want to try Winchester Supreme High Velocity #5's out of any of your full chokes.

it easy to identify me in the turkey woods.

I carry a lot of different calls with me diagram calls, box calls made with different types of wood, pot calls (crystal, glass, slate, copper and aluminum) with different types of strikers, a trumpet call (7000 hour call) and my newest this year will be a tongue call. If they aren't answering one I'll switch calls to see what calls they might answer too. I find it easier to get the kee kee calls of a turkey out of the aluminum and copper pot calls.

Of the three Merriams my son and I have taken they just had nubs maybe 1/2" and the same for the Goulds I took in Sonora. I have also heard it has to do with the terrain. TRKHNTR, did you get that mounted? Yes see pictures below.

Haha yep the shortest one of the four is 14/16 longer then most Merriams spurs.

Why did you shoot such a little one? It was 11.5 pounds that is average for Ocellated.

Excellent turkey gun have one myself the only thing I don't like about it is it does not come with swivel studs for sling. Not a big deal but make sure you know what your doing installing it in a hollow stock.

I would say in the late season more times then not they will be gobbling when they come in however this last spring on the last day the first bird I called in came in silent and from behind us the only reason I knew it was even there was the hen started putting after she caught use moving.

You just wait until I tell your other favorite hunting buddy what you said. She's likely to uninvite you from her turkey hunt! once she hears me yelping, clucking and purring on some of my new calls she will forgive me I have faith.

only "5 solid days" so far glad you're keeping track because i forgot to write it down it will take a lot more then 5 days to get me to call a bird in for you.

One of my favorite times to hunt is the end of the season. We called in three toms including this huge tom at separate times throughout the day on the last day of 2017 spring hunt.
