Anyone interested in an auction instead of snake? not a big deal, but if anyone has done one, they are a ton of fun.

We are all dying from the heat lately- and thinking about football naturally makes it feel cooler around.
Anyone interested? I am happy to setup a 12 man league in ESPN's system. Participated last year in a CWT league- and it was fun.

Youth Outdoors Unlimited has a hunter Ed camp the first weekend in Aug near Happy Jack. Fun time and get it all done at once. They'll usually let adults sit through it and take the test too...just might not get a card that day and have to send it in to AZGFD depending on how many kids are there.
Took the recommendation and signed up my 9 year old for this.
Is there a cost? I don't see that noted anywhere on the application.

yup, same here, actually, but cc hits yet. [insert your typical language about how not all the cards have been hit, and how there are no provisions/call backs for error cc, etc, haha] This is the life we have chosen.

Back home today (only had 1.5 days available).
37 cows and 1 spike. Locations that I have used with success in the past. Odd.

Perhaps not. Just trying to help a buddy get his first tag filled. Didnt have time to prep or scout. This year has been so dry.

We finished the day with 24 cows spotted and 1 spike. Amazing ratio. Wow.

Hey guys, I will be out helping a buddy grab his first elk (he's up for anything that has horns- spike is fine, obviously).
We'll be SW of the golf course all day tomorrow, off of doll baby rd. If anyone has a bead on a spike they pass on, let me know.

G&F website states its at 60% (payment process). Not sure how long that will take now that they do not call to let you give another form a payment for denied cards.

I am hearing that GFD are only 40% through the draw. Can someone confirm this? I usually expect the first day (this past Sat) knock out the massive majority of the tags.

If you don't mind going further back in, I'd steer clear of the lakes you mentioned this time of year. There are people everywhere to the point where you can't enjoy it. I like Knoll late. It is about another 25 miles on the rim rode and will take an additional 45 minutes to an hour to get there, but well worth it. You will still run into other people, but nothing like you would experience at Woods Canyon or Willow Springs

What kind of fish can you catch at Fools Hollow?
Trout, catfish, smallmouth, largemouth , pike, crappie, walleye , bluegill.

This is Rainbow Lake, by the way. Small mouth has been good, and catfish on grasshopper.
Weeds are not too bad.
