Not sure the details about what happened to the original rhino linings but they were really good at the beginning and not sure what happened to them or their product but they are not good quality anymore( 12 plus years ago ish ....) inyati seems to be the best out there now. My brothers company has it in the beds of approximately 30 trucks and they like them. Sorry no experience with universal...

I would say wrap it then .... when it starts looking bad re wrap it and you paint well stay nice.

I think it depends on how much he has welding so far .... how much experience does he have right now. I think the cochise college would be good for him and get him a good start. I learn from my dad who was a welder and it was fun to learn at a young age. If he is serious about it after school I would look into one of the company's that forepaw mentioned or a big power company so you can get a retirement out of it. I have some 2014 ford 1/2 ton 4x4 wheels with used tires on then still. I was going to use the tires on one of my old trucks but they are too tall. Dot date is from 2018 and they all have about 6/32nds left on all of them. I don't believe there are any sensors in the wheels either. These cane off my brother's truck .... 200 Obo .. .. would like these gone. Can meet within reason. I also have 4 of the gray wheels which are also Ford 4x4 wheels from a half ton. The are also 17s. Off of a 2018 f150. Make offer . .. I will get a picture of the windshield when I get home, but its the lock and ride with the plastic turn locking brackets. And is a poly plastic windshield. It came off my 2019 general. I will edit and update later with more info.
