Good on your kid. Went to school with a lot of the premier guides in my area. Most are fantastic humans. Creating laws that prevent the average guy that can’t afford a guide from getting scouting reports seems wild to me. Even if I get the same pins its my job to scout the pins and see where I want to hunt.

Like mentioned above, member Desertbull had the same business. I would imagine a guided hunt in 23 is mighty expensive nowadays. @trphyhntr chicken and strippers bill is probably shocking to some. 😂

Son works with a guide and you want to work on a law that says the guide has to accompany? What’s wrong with paying a minimal fee for scouting pins vs paying a guided hunt?

For what it’s worth. Tim is not a member but I gave him a heads up and his response… Thanks for the heads up…yeah I had a big mixup with 2 hunters with scouting reports and offered them full refunds immediately but they liked the info and both had good hunts and even worked together on a couple stalks…It comes with the territory.

26 year old at work fell off an excavator and blew his elbow up on a fire and had multiple surgeries on it. Got infected and had a couple skin grafts. He is 10000% able besides the fact he can’t shoot a bow because his arm won’t ever be straight and won’t ever hold the weight of drawing a bow. I don’t know much about the champ deal. Would he qualify for that?

I use a Slik 834. I have a gen 2 outdoorsman’s quick release adapter. When I get to glassing knob I attach pan head or fluid head and when I shoot I use a RRS anvil 30. The quick release adapter has a lever lock so it’s easy to switch and I keep the heads in my pack so I don’t get them dusty from the Honda dust. I have an aluminum outdoorsman’s tall tripod and they are nice but it’s less stable than my 834, it gets cold, and it’s noisy if you accidentally bang a leg on anything.
