Keep the 6.5-270AI or get the .280AI
cjl2010 replied to Zeke-BE's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Anybody have actual experience between 6.5x55 ai vs 6.5x284? not that I’m against fire forming but it sure does get boring. -
I think inner mountain does wood stocks too. I believe he just moved to Payson. Message couesnsheep

Do you have a 100 yard zero?
-
Zero at 100 yds and don’t worry about it
-
Looks like nosler has a 70gn accubond in the works.

If I can get them to tune I’ll load em for next year. Look forward to your results.

What lot is your H1000?

I’ve taken my 3200’ 70° zero to 7300’ 32° and had zero issues making impacts out to 830 yards. any zero past 100 yards I would use a silver that accounted for zero conditions
-
I guess I shouldn’t of said don’t worry about it. If you are going to go to the extreme of 6500ft elevation gain and consider shooting long range you should do your due diligence and zero your rifle. 100 yard zero is much easier to confirm than a 300 yard zero.
-
If you zero at 100 you don’t have to worry about your zero in different atmospheric conditions.
-
Just use a 100 yard zero and dont worry about atmosphere
-
Remember this fellas. Dont drive, hike, hunt, or come through Payson. Your shoot will probably get stolen. Towns full stay out 🤣

This could complete my 6.5 trifecta! Good luck with sale!

Shot my buck at 425 yards this year. First shot was 2.5” low. I missed a few more as he was running down the hill and put a two more into him at 350ish yards. I can cold bore steel out to 850 yards or so, animals I struggle with because I get too excited. Last two years I’ve averaged about 800 rounds of practice a year. edit, Woody I’m also part of the small penis club.

Used my sig2400 to kill my buck the other day. Shoot the range and tells you what to dial. It’s a great tool for those quick setups. If you plan to shoot longer distances it might be worth spending a little more cash for the 2400.

I’m getting ready to have a plethora of 6.5s. My brims are pretty flat too. #longrange6point5er
