I haven't been in the pears yet this year. I've hiked quite a bit below the rim and there were acorns everywhere and lots of bear sign. From my experience bears would rather be in the cool country eating acorns if they are available. Not saying there won't be bears in the pears.

Buy a quick adapter, buy one threaded dovetail for your pistol grip, and buy a dovetail with 1/4-20 cap screw for the bottom of your manfrotto. You can use both by loosening wing nut and switching them out

Plenty of 7 SAUM brass available from Norma and the cartridge has very similar ballistics with less powder. 7 Sherman Short Mag would be another option assuming you are willing to fire form SAUM brass. Is the saum a good candidate for a long action like the wsm is?

Sorry I hikacked. My stw is a 9.5 twist. It shoots the 180 vld's in tiny groups. I'm around 3000 fps and 3000-7000 elevation.

Brass is about the only thing holding me back from a long action 7 wsm

How do you find brass for 7 wsm?

Flatline only has 7e so far on Avenza. My dad has 7w in sept so hope that comes through soon

If you use Avenza maps on your phone, they offer Flatline's as a download. Avenza offers a great map service. Allows you to mark waypoints and measure distances and use your maps all without cell service.
