Awesome. I assume you are not injured but have a deer down. No picture other than bloody boots. Did your hunting buddies piss you off?

    Wood Working Question???

Those are large pieces of lumber. If it was my project I would not fill those in they add character. I would get some aresol cans of clear urethane and spray the cracks and attempt to seal it as best as you can. For the top there used to be bar top sealer that put a thick coating on but I haven’t done a lot of wood work for 15 years

    Opinions,

watch the you tube videos of how to install made it easier but my neighbor who drives a semi was able to inform me of what to look out for.

    Opinions,

chains are easier to install than a wheel/tire combo i would install chains when needed. also the rear wheels are typically where chains would go. make sure and have tighteners and stop after a mile of driving and recheck tension. Also carry a little mechanics or bailing wire and tie the ends of the chains to prevent them from hitting the body. I had a late hunt 4 years or so ago near flagstaff and would have lost truck and trailer off the road if i didnt have chains. I ran them on all four wheels of the truck anytime i was not on asphalt and i was able to go anywhere i wanted. The same trip multiple guys slid off the road and damaged trucks and trailers. I ended up pulling a few out of the snow and ice

    Cummins question

If you have a aftermarket transmission shop try to get one to adjust it. What year is it? In 2005 06 they went to a tv motor controlled by the computer. They are known to need to be replaced when trans fails if it is earlier should be a cable. After having the valve body replaced that many times I would think it is adjustment or bad tv motor.

did you have the transmission o-hauled? why do you need to back it off?
  11. That is a great machine I have that machine and load all calibers on it.
  12. I think that is about as light as you can get with scope and all. I,m looking to do a lightweight also.
  13. call Eurooptic i think they have a rail to go on your factory dovetail set up. On my sako 85 I use the sako optilock rings and they work great. I used a .020 shim under the base to ring and got moa adjustment back. the optilock to dove tail is very similar to the talley rings on my rem 700 but easier for scope removal and installation.
  14. get a remington and use it for your build it has better support and options.
  15. If it is like my Sako you better see how it shoots before you change it. Took a couple different bullets but found a real tight shooter in it.
  16. Just curious how it compares to other scopes in its price range? I have used and owned vortex pst, and Burris xtr, they are just not clear at full zoom like my swaro x5. Tracking seems to have been true on all the scopes I have had

    G7 BR2

I have the second generation and it works fantastic. I would love to use a sig 2400 and see how it works and determine which is the best for me. It does mrad and moa as well as bdc.
  20. Had a similar problem with 338 lapua in a savage every sellior and ballot case stuck and the lapua brand did not may be just a brass thing. Different brass has different characteristics
  21. Just got back from a cow elk hunt with my son. I have had him out shooting and he does a great job even out to 800+ yards on steel. On day one he had a yearling antlerless at 100 yards in a 5-25 burris and was unable to find her in the scope and she walked off. Day 4 we had a bedded cow at 533 yards and he couldnt find her in the scope and said that there was sun blocking out the optic and couldnt make her out after 1 1/2 hours of looking. Day 5 he found and killed a elk at 100-120 yards while the sun was coming up. I have no idea why he couldnt see the first ones I looked through the scope and had no problems may have been buck fever. I figured out later that he thought he had to magnify the scope to make a good shot on her and the one he finished his hunt with he never checked the magnification just pulled the trigger at 5 pwr and then said I didnt even adjust the magnification. Pick a scope and take them out, it is probably better to have clear optical picture than magnification.

    Online Shooting supply Store Question

    No hazmat fee.
  23. Title says it all Why do we shoot 26 inch barrel? Or longer or shorter? Velocity increases are minimal after all the powder is burned and is accuracy really any better.
  24. now thats a packable gun looks light weight and ready for a suppressor
