  1. Don't have the Swaros but had the Vortex 15x56 and have Zeiss Conquest HD 15x56. After some side by side comparison, the Zeiss stayed and I sold the Kaibabs.... I haven't done any side by side with the Swaros, but the Zeiss are GREAT!

Vortex - Kaibab vs. Vulture 15x56

The major differences between the two (and I have tested both) are: edge to edge clarity and resolution is better in the Kaibaibs, the Kaibabs will filter out stray light better, handle CA better, and have better low light performance than the Vultures. When I tested the Vultures my eyes were difficult to focus after removing my eyes from them as well as when I initially got behind them. This to me is a sign that they will create headaches after long glassing sessions. It may have been contained to that specific pair I was testing, but I wasn't willing to take the chance. On a side note to PelaPapas; I did sell my Kaibabs last night on eBay, so I'm not trying to give you a sales pitch here. Pick up the Kaibabs and don't look back, they are good glass and you will have no reason to upgrade from there unless you have glass OCD like me!
  3. Bump with pics. The last two were taken with my PhoneSkope and iPhone, the truck was 850 yards away. This is a great deal for someone, they stil have the "new bino smell" !!!!!
  4. I forgot to state, these come with everything as shipped... Tripod adaptor, case, cleaning cloth, neck strap, literature, box, VIP warranty, etc. etc.
  5. I am selling a pair of Vortex Kaibab HD 15x56 binos (2015 models) which are like new in the box. I bought these and the Zeiss Conquest HD last month to try out side by side and ended up keeping the Zeiss. These are great glass and held their own against the Zeiss!! I'm asking $1000.00 shipped and you can contact me here or by phone/text at 559-908-1391. Pics available upon request,

    Best binos for around $1000

I'm not meaning to dig up an otherwise dead thread here, but I recently went through this same decision and here are my results.... I had the money and my heart was set on a pair of Swaro SLC 10x42's. I figured I would at least look at binos down to the $1K mark before making my purchase. I compared the Razor HD's and Conquest HD's, both in 10x42 with the Swaros. The Swaros were better no doubt, but not by much at all... I figured I could get the Razors or Conquests and have money left over for other gear I've been wanting, so it came down to those two. The Conquests completely blew the Razors out of the water in all aspects, but it was most apparent in low light. To be honest, there really was no real competition! I then went back to the Conquest vs. SLC and the only real difference optically I could note was a bit better CA control and depth of field with the SLC. They were both bright, super sharp, had the same edge clarity, and what appeared to be true color rendition. The SLC was heavier, which gave it the appearance of better build quality, and I like the locking diopter on the SLC. Those differences to me don't justify an $800 price increase. I think the Conquest HD line is the best thing going without getting into the true alpha class glass...
