    Super Raffle tag buck...

Nah, still around. Has anything new or groundbreaking been shared contrary to what I’ve said? I didn’t think so, so why keep the thread going? You guys have way more time on your hands than I do. Especially the guy who pulled up the guides list and looked for my name to find my dog in the fight? 😂 Everyone got their panties in a bunch when someone (not just me) mentioned it was a hybrid. Now that there’s FAR more evidence to support that, hopefully we can move on to the full story of how he went about killing it from the beginning (not some abbreviated description of the story pulled from an IG post by Duwane himself). Or that really sweet one that trphyhntr repeated from his “source”. But let’s be real, that ain’t happening either. Some people have made their mind up based on Duwanes reputation alone. That’s fine. After-all, good people never make really poor decisions in the moment, do they? My mind hasn’t changed because a few guys on the internet who weren’t there, or even bothered to ask a couple people who were, don’t agree with me. 👍

Still waiting for that “other side of the story.”

Speaking of dealing with dementia patients... I’ll repeat it ONCE AGAIN. Put your big boy ears on, okay? Duwane was never even going to go after the buck until they found out that A3 was requesting permits. Who knows, maybe Duwane didn’t even know about the buck up until that point! If the buck was so special and worth the raffle tag, Colt, Shane, Duwane and Tol would’ve been in there from the beginning. The fact that they weren’t in there from the beginning and the ENTIRE time Ben was watching this buck leading up to the auction hunter even showing up doesn’t sound strange to any of you?? It’s obvious, people. Colt and Shane (and clearly Duwane) would’ve rather seen Tol kill the deer than anyone else if Colt wasn’t going to have a second chance at him. Which is Colt’s prerogative. I know some guides and outfitters who wouldn’t touch this mess. This was a cluster from the beginning. They don’t want the drama. If you’re an outfitter and you specifically go into an area ONLY because you found out another outfitter is chasing a big buck, you’re a douche. I don’t care if you’re A3, mossback or Duwanes whatever guide service. As for the phone call. It was while Ben and the hunter were coming around to relocate the buck, not “getting ready to shoot”. Why did he answer? Who knows, maybe Ben thought for a minute that he’d have a good, honest discussion on the phone with a fellow outfitter who was clearly going after the same deer? We know that didn’t happen.

What does it matter who my source is? Change my mind! Once again, thanks for the warm and fuzzy stories of when Duwayne changed your tire, or when Duwayne rocked your baby to sleep. Or whatever. And spare me the “those who don’t succeed make up lots of stories to make up for their lack of success” garbage. You just get back from a Tony Robbins seminar? That’s become the go-to response when snowflakes get offended or don’t have anything significant to contribute.

Wrong. Metatarsals are, in fact, a definitive way of identifying a hybrid.

And that’s the problem. Guys won’t even watch the video like you just did. Thank you

Correct, this is not a true 150” Coues whitetail deer. The drama is extremely dumb and could’ve easily been avoided. Spotter found the buck on the hill. Ben and the hunter were on the other side of the hill. Before Ben and the hunter could get around to the buck side of the hill, the buck had moved down in the flats. Coincidentally, about that same time Duwane and his hunter got there. Duwanes guide then picked up the buck in the flats. Boom. Dead hybrid.

What’s a high breed? Either way, the raffle tag buck recently killed and CLAIMING to be a Coues deer is a slap in the face to an actual Coues buck like that in your picture.

Whiner, hater, jealous... they’re all just meaningless terms when someone doesn’t have a solid argument. I borrowed my kids crayolas if you’re still needing that picture?

Lol. Read a book, buddy. Or spend about 3 minutes talking to an actual wildlife biologist. Jim Heffelfinger is a great resource on this. If you’re in the TUCSON area, swing in and talk to Jesse Lim at bull basin and have him tell you of his confirmed hybrid in the same class. You talk as if “rare” means it doesn’t happen. 😂😂. And you’re right, this is an exceptional HALF Coues buck.

100%, I’m quite positive what Ben would’ve done if the roles were reversed. Definitely not what Duwane did. Minus “providing the hunter”, there was very little A3 had to do with this hunt. Not your typical A3 hunt with 15 guys on every hillside. Just a couple of guys the finder (Ben) wanted there and the hunter. You ask how did Duwane just find that spot without knowing the buck was there? Did you not read anything I wrote?!? Of course he knew the buck was there! Like I said, and like Duwane himself said, “colt gave Shane permission” to take the hunter in there. That’s how Duwane knew where to go. Since you seem to know Duwane super well, ask him his side of the story. Also, ask him why he wasn’t hunting the buck from the very beginning if he knew it was there BEFORE A3 was requesting permits? As for your story. Ummm, thanks for the cool story but clearly that says something about his SIL, not necessarily Duwane. Once again, unless you have something else contrary to what I’ve said about THIS story, you’re just telling stories that make us feel all warm and fuzzy

He was on the other side of the hill, dude. Need me to draw you a picture? Clearly you get confused with words...

The last thing I’m doing is defending A3 for doing any of that, if they’re guilty of it. I hope they lose guides and permits for doing stuff like that if it’s true. Not gonna lie, I get a little nauseated when I hear myself sound like I’m “defending” A3. But I’m talking about how this particular animal was taken and the facts. Flip the roles played in this instance if you want, then A3 are a bunch of snakes! But that’s not the case. Change my mind.

Respectfully, I disagree. Plenty of honest, die hard hunters who get it done year in and year out with ZERO controversy. The jealousy comment is overplayed and like I said, unless you have some different info, change my mind. “Hunters gotta stick together..” they say. Apparently that means we lower our standards? No thanks. I’d rather tell the truth

First you were “confused”. Someone then explained to you what happened. And because you didn’t like the explanation it makes that same someone jealous?? 😂😂. Get real dude. Once again, change my mind. I’m all ears.

    Super Raffle tag buck...

Already confirmed by two biologists that it's a hybrid. Why is this even part of the discussion anymore? Unless you're trying to tell Duwane to STOP telling everyone, including his hunter, that it's a Coues buck? Colt Yount found the buck and hunted the buck back in November unsuccessfully. He planned on hunting the buck again this year, I'm sure. That was until they (Duwane, Shane, Colt, or whoever) found out that A3 was requesting permits to guide in a specific area asap where this buck happened to live. Clearly someone else (we'll call him Ben) had found the buck, was planning on selling him to the auction hunter, and A3 was bringing said hunter to hunt it. That's when Colt gave Shane "permission" to take Duwane's hunter (the raffle tag holder, Tol) in there to hurry and kill it before A3 did. Up until that point, Duwane wasn't even hunting the buck. So the race begins... Several days later, and a couple of days of unsuccessfully hunting the buck, the buck is found again by one of Ben's friends. Ben and the hunter are now on their way around to the side of the mountain that the buck is on to shoot it. Meanwhile, Duwane pulls up with his hunter and walks right up to the hill where the spotter is and tries to BS with Ben's friend. Ben's friend makes it clear to Duwane that they're already on the buck. Duwane then tries the old "yeah, but which big buck? There's two big bucks in here" trick. A short while later, and after a random phone call made to Ben by Duwane about optics, Duwane's guide (assuming it was Shane) happens to glass the buck up in the flats. And the rest is history. This is why nobody wants to talk about it: #1 it's a hybrid (which doesn't mean it shouldn't be talked about, per se'), just NOT a full-blooded Coues Whitetail deer #2 Duwane's a snake #3 Change my mind

    I'll take him

Cool buck. You forgot to mention how it helps to drive around on your SxS with your buddies (on roads you're not supposed to be on while hunting) behind locked gates. Long sentence. But you get the point. #ranchmanagerproblems

Awesome bucks! Congratulations to your hunters 33 doesn't have 100% draw odds. So posting what unit these bucks came out of only hurts guys who try to hunt it on a regular basis. So out of respect to those who don't profit off of it, keep it to yourself. Thanks.
