Wow..... The only conclusion I was able to come to was that "My Rights As An American" was just given a mulligan that is basically unheard of. Glad it worked out and you were able to take the kids hunting.

I have a feeling the end result will be great if you are watching a single point but when you want to start panning and tilting, it will be a big hassle making all the subtle adjustments. I can't sit and glass for that reason but I seem to be in the minority. 10+ hrs standing behind glass doesn't bother me in the least. The last time I glassed while sitting, it was for 5 hrs waiting for a deer to get up from behind a bush and your idea would have been perfect for that situation. Let us know if you do it and how you like the final result.

If one is willing to go hunt the things, I cant believe a trip to a GnF office would be a deal breaker. Printing licenses, sure, but big game tags sounds like a disaster.

I would define it as one of the most enjoyable ways to spend time outside. IF you like solitude, love to spend hours behind glass, don't mind climbing and hiking up hills or down washes, don't mind stalking animals that will, in most cases laugh at you as they are running away from you and think the desert is beautiful in it's own way, then you may like it too. The vegetation is very different from on top of the rim to the lower flats. Google Hannagan Meadow. Absolutely beautiful up there in 27. If you want to experience a desert hunt, that aint it. It is full of really big, nasty, awesome country though. While most plants are mean up north and will bite, everything down in the traditional "desert" is going to attack you. Google Arizona desert. You will get a wide variety of pics and all are considered desert. Units 22 and 23 have every type of terrain you could want. Flat stuff down low, crazy rocky canyons and heavily wooded areas. Not in the desert and questionable about the hunting part but the girl is awesome and the decoy along with bait seems to work. At least in Kansas.

A buddy and his wife did while I was watching them through the binos.. (the dairy cow) I never laughed so hard while glassing. The bucks figured it out in about 2 seconds and quickly ran away. I'm pretty sure I heard them laughing as well.

Keep looking as they are around. I have found they will find a little pocket away from the well traveled areas and hunker down. If you will be happy with a small buck or spike, look for the girls. The bigger bucks won't be there. At least not the Muleys in Dec. You will always find them wherever you happen to find them. . If your binos aren't your best friend, get a new friend. 22 can be tough as it gets pounded for the same reason you are looking at it. Hiking two miles in will get you into some prime areas and give you an opportunity to chase something. Good luck.

I just noticed last night they placed some "Wrong way" signs on the 60 southbound from 74... And it really blocks your view of oncoming traffic when trying to cross the road on to the 74 from the southbound 60. This thread reminded me that I was going to call and have someone check it. I'm sure that sign is more likely to kill someone than a wrong way driver. Especially with all the motorcycles that run up that way.
