Being in the middle of scouting for the coues October rifle hunt, I got to wondering. Would you rather hunt an area that is only a mile/mile and a half from a road, but you can scout it almost every weekend for a quick morning or evening run? Or an area that's 4 or 5 miles in the backcountry but you can maybe scout it 2 weekends due to the time it takes to get back there. My wife is much more tolerant of Saturday morning trips than Friday night, Saturday, sunday overnight trips.

those are cool freakin deer. -
Good chance you'll get it. I think 30a October was the last hunt to have leftovers last year. I did that last year and it's not a bad hunt if you work hard.

those leftover hunts suuuck. Anything besides a December coues hunt or a strip/Kaibab hunt is a big waste of time. I'd much rather be out scouting for the upcoming javelina hunts.

Like new condition, top shelf fluid head. Only selling because I'm wanting something lighter for backpacking. Would make a perfect head for digiscoping thru spotter or bigger glass. This is a true fluid head which offers a great range of drag resistance so you can set it and it'll hold your glass in place without having to retighten knobs. Smooth as butter. It weighs a shade over 24 oz. $210 tyd or trade for outdoorsmans or Jim white head. PayPal ff or add 3%. I can add a little cash on my end for outdoorsman head trade.

Final price drop to $210. If it doesn't sell for this i'll just keep it.

Glassed up this coues shed a couple weekends ago. Had to go get it across the canyon the next morning. Man was it a hot son of a gun coming back out of that steep canyon once the sun was up. It's a 2016 drop, scores right at 44", has some pretty good mass. Also glassed an elk shed that ended up being a piece of chalk older than I am. Here's a question for you coues experts. With coues being notorius for small home ranges, have you ever found a shed, then ended up going back in there and finding that buck the next summer/fall, because you knew he lived in that area based off finding his sheds in there?

That's amazing. I've dreamed of doing that exact thing.

I have compared the Meopta hd with the swaro neu side by side in the 15x models. Both me and my buddy that owned the swaros thought the meoptas were just a bit sharper. I'd imagine this would hold true for the 10x as well.

31 October. Time to buy some black camo
-
if it goes the same as the last elk draw it'll be Monday, but i'm hoping tomorrow so I can get some more meaningful scouting in this weekend.
-
somebody needs this head for the upcoming coues hunts. If you're not glassing with a quality fluid head you are missing out.
-
I'll take it. Pm coming.

Love em. Definitely can't blame my lack of big deer on my binos anymore. I think this is my year ha

Gotta sit ten feet back for the pic to make it look giant. then put all your outfitters watermarks on the pic. Oh and make sure your 7 man glassing posse is standing around you.

Makes me wonder what it'll take to get my Euros serviced a year or 2 down the road. Looks like they are moving toward partnering more with Vortex in favor of the Meopta line. That's a shame.

Yeah october hunt. I think this will make preseason scouting that much more important. They'll be in there somewhere.

I believe it throws you into the non res pool. So it hurts you quite a bit with the non res tag allocation being so limited.
