Fished Thursday and Friday there. Thursday was not bad maybe 20 kayaks on lake. Friday maybe 250 kayaks on lake and im not kidding. One truck had like 20 on a trailer blocking the whole boat ramp.

Man these things are everywhere now. Was trolling today and a whole posse of them cuts right in front of the boat slow as could be. Had to slow down for them and reel my lines in. Then when loading up boat at ramp they walk over the tongue of boat trailer or walk right behind or in front of your truck as your in motion. Strange cats for sure those people.

Been like that at the Avondale one for awhile now. Pretty wild.

All good now. Bracket broke that holds brake line and the rubber hose rubbed on tire until it exploded. Anyone with a ford look at them and put something on as a backup if yours breaks ever. Could be a very bad deal.

I had a tech from Ford in star valley bring me a new brake line and help me install. Very nice people there at Ford.

Anyone here in payson? Need help with truck. Broke down at circle k. Need part from ford and a extra hand.

Tomorrow will be a hard day for me. My 9 year old shorthair pointer Mags will be chasing and pointing quail and pheasant in heaven. The last week she has been slow to eat and her stomach has been getting hard. Could just tell something was off with her as I’ve had her since a pup. Took her to an emergency vet last night for X-rays and bad news was confirmed. She has cancer looking tumors in her chest and all over her lungs. Crazy how within a week it has gotten so bad so fast. She stays outside but has been an indoor dog since yesterday and getting first class treatment. Been eating chicken, steak, and anything else she wants. This dog has pointed thousands of coveys of quail and a pile of pheasants from Arizona to Kansas. Trained a lot of other dogs also for people. I’m sure it will really set in tomorrow but man even tough guys can get tore up from a good dog going away. RIP Mags.

It’s amazing watching them work and point. I have framed pictures in my house of Mags on point or a covey flush in front of her. She would also pick up the chickens here at house and come find me. Wouldn’t ever hurt them but would walk around with them in her mouth lol.

Ya it was the toughest one to let go for me but I wasn’t going to let her suffer. We had a good run on all our hunts. Brady form this site and I went down south for some Mearns quail one time and she took us into a nasty canyon on some birds. We shot a limit each under an hour down there. That’s pretty impressive for Mearns quail. I think we hit like 4 different coveys. I’ll never forget that hunt.

Left her out in living room by herself last night to just be happy and do as she pleases and didn’t care if she got into trouble. Found her this morning with a quail mount on couch next to her she grabbed off table again lol. At least her last day she had a quail in her mouth.

She’s up there now chasing birds around happier than ever.
