I still did good today. Pulled 11 out of some nasty country a few miles away. I'm not mad just wanted to see if others felt like me in that aspect.

If anyone is free tomorrow for some quail hunting let me know.

People telling others about your spot as if it was theirs.

My family ranches. It is not lawful to cut any fence. What people don't realize is that when you cut and repair the area it may look good but is not. The first freeze and low temps that come through there will cause that cut area you made to break as it is not as strong as it was. Don't cut fences. Ranchers have a hard enough time as it is.

Quail will hold tight after they have seen hunters before usually. I rotate my 4 areas weekly to relieve the pressure. I locate a covey first thing in the morning and split it up. Once broken up birds will hold tight and my dog will point on singles the rest of the day. That's the best hunting there is when your dog locks in on a bird in cover.

Did pretty good today. Birds were holding tight.

My quail spots have some prickly pear but mostly grassland about a foot tall. Rolling hills. Great area for gambles.

Ya. The dog got a lot of action today.

I didn't have luck with the Britts working as fast as the GSPs. It's just my own opinion though. I do hunt dogs for people though.

I'm heading to my parents cabin Wednesday till Friday up in Strawberry. Thinking of driving south to look for quail. I will have my GSP with us. How are the birds there?

Well the wife and I limited out last Saturday at our honey hole. Quail numbers are great this year.
