He calls me back and says guy could barely speak English and could not read or write English. He thought it said antlered elk? How in the heck does this guy even get a license, let alone a tag?

My thoughts exactly. Probably had someone do it for him, is my guess. The officer must have spoken to him in broken Spanish? He did take the elk and cited him also.

Anyone know what year the ram that Betty killed was? My dad was on that hunt, and I think it was around 1975. It made the front page of AZ Republic. My sister still has article I think. Asked her to find it if she can, I will post pics when I get it. Brings back some awesome memories of my dad, who gave me my love of hunting.
