I guess i should be honored. Thanks nobull does sound fun but i just dont have an intereset in a guided lion hunt. Im hellbent on getting one myself! For what its worth, i used to think there wasnt much sport in hunting with dogs and killkng an animal out of a tree. Until i met and went out with Dale in young. Man it really opened my eyes, the amount of work, time and effort, not to mention gas and wear and tear, houndsmen put in is unreal. Gave me a whole new respect for them.

I think everyone has voiced an opinion or at least have one.

I would hate to be that deer. I sweat like a wart hog.

Very passive aggressive sales pitch. Haha, momma also started making soaps, none specialized for me yet though.

Well maybe that one wasnt the one with the link. That's what happens when you go down a rabbit hole. As soon as I find it I will post.

Ok, finally found the vid that that had the link to the cat calls. It really caught my interest. The vid

Another vid by the same guys as last. Track in the snow....

Not one of the videos I mentioned, but these boys got it done where most dudes would have gave up. Worth the watch.

My woman responds the same way to me most of the time, you would think I'd learn the lesson but I'm much happier walk in around with racoon eyes.

That's a killer buck dude, congrats.

Looked at your profile to see where you live, noticed you are kind of new to the forum so if no one else had welcomed you... Welcome to the forum! Also wondered because i was curious how far away you were. I know an area particularly lion rich the reason being a combined amount of factors. I would love to thin them out and bring the deer back. It would be about a 3 hour drive for you. My dream is a lion with a bow and ive been watching a lot of lion videos on youtube that got me thinking. Spot and stalk though.... its not necessarily impossible but most times a cat is glassed up (it seams) they are on the move making it dang near impossible. Yes it can happen, but i would not plan your success based on spot and stalk. Another member once told me calling in a lion has more to do with knowing a lion is already in the area, via sighting, trail cam or fresh tracks. Blindly calling obviosly would be less successful. Also watch youtube vids, one had a link to different lion sounds and sold calls that really piqued my interest. I'll try and find it and post a link. My first approach would be, calling with a good electronic call (good calls are expensive) like a foxpro. They do have lion sounds you can buy, as does the website i alluded to earlier. But! The key is Calling in an area you already know is lion rich, or you saw fresh tracks or have very recent cam footage. Second approach, driving roads as its snowing or just freshly snowed. Drive slow, look out the window looking for a track crossing the road. Some obvious saftey things to mention. This a back road practice, 4x4 is a must and pay attention to the road! But once youve found a fresh track you just increased your chances big time. Follow if you want for spot n stalk because this will likely be your best chance at true spot and stalk, or survey your surroundings and set up the call. At this point i will assume you know about wind direction, thermal currents and all that. Thats basically all i have to offer, but thats how i would approach it.

Well if it makes ya feel any better... i also just did a stupid. Decided to be lazy and drive between the house and my tree with the camper instead of backing it in like i usually do. What really chaps my butt is im the guy that usually stops stupid things from happening, well.... not this time. Sucks because im listing it for sale now i need to spend a bunch of time fixing it to make it look good again. Silver lighning is i can still fix it and not have it look like crap.

Rained pretty good here in sv from around 1am ish to 5 or 6.

Can i just run cams for you instead?
-
Delw, I just admitted to being a fanboy. For the right reasons though! But i swear to god i would never do that crap.

I dont have an issue with guides unless they abuse the rules and have every animal catalogued. Blocking roads to other hunters boils my blood big time though. Im pro guide for the right ones. One of the reasons im a Duwane Adams fanboy is because hes one of the only (if literally not the only) guide that does not have his guys running cams. He straight teaches his guys how to glass, where and why and thats why i have utmost respect for him. Yeah i want to get into guiding, and ive had opportunities i let pass. But if im gonna guide i want my way and skill to be the factor. I would never guide for a company like b4 or slimeback.

Lol, probably the wisest post youve made! Some guys are just lazy though, you can only bring a horse to water and all that. In the end, i looked hard at options for a one man show where you could still make money and count less on employees. Im chasing that idea now. Construction has been good to me but if you work alone you are already capping your income. And i just cant deal with employees anymore. Im a virgo, total perfectionist and no employee will ever do things to my standard. Not saying good ones arent out there, but i dont have time to filter through them and find the needle in the . haystack.

I'm great only problem has ever been employees worth hiring. Let me ask you something nobull. If you were an employee that was used to making $12-14 an hour and I came along and offer you piecework where you could easily make a grand a week or more, and all you have to do is not take constant smoke breaks and actually work 7 hours a day, would you try to make more money? And yes I know you are self employed, but offering $1k a week in an area where dudes doing the same work make much less is a pretty good deal. For example, I paid $40 to swap out valve and toilet, same for a kitchen sink. If that's not enough incentive I don't know what is. I can do both of those tasks in less then a half hour ncluding walking the trash to the trailer, installing and cleaning up the mess.

Well gee wiz, Seems you brought my name up again so I in turn chose to be petty yet again. No never killed a muley, but never hunted one either. Never killed a bull either, only 3 lowly peasant cow elk with my lowly peasant over the counter tags. How many Oct elk you got? Oh none probably because your busy hunting private property. Wish I could kill big deer on private property and swing my dick around. Maybe if I had access to Priveliged acres ranch in Kansas I could kill a muley or an eastern. Anytime you want to learn how to hunt big coues on public land, id be happy to take you out.

He probably took you literally and thought you actually meant "tail cam" and not "trail cam". I assume he just didnt realize it was a typo and just thinks guides get a lot of a$$.

You'll have to excuse him. Privilege doesn't mean intelligent.
