Well I don't know what tripod head you are using but I run a benro s2. I have the plates all pre attached to all my binos, big eyes and triclawps so it's essentially pretty quick and easy to swap from one thing to the next. I also have a slik cf 634 and it stays home most the time. Too light makes things to shaky especially when using big eyes. My go to tripod is a vanguard alta 264ao which is now discontinued but they make a newer version of it. I found it's the right combo of light enough and sturdy in the wind but when standing in wind it's still shaky so I carry an rei trail stool and sit to glass when possible. As far as mounting you're rifle I use a triclawps on the tripod but if I'm hunting I'll use a trigger stick or a hiking stick to stabilize the back end and that's worked well for the family.

I wouldn't say I gave you grief per say. You seem to usually get it done your way. Much respect still. But tripods rule!

I love pirogis. We make a PA Dutch version called buvashenkel (boys leg). It's basically the same thing but bigger. I dig em fried in butter.

This right here. I absolutely hate sitting water and blinds but when water is scarce it can be gold. I believe I have a killer spot for mid January and I can't wait.

Have not used it myself dropping pins but I think it's an awesome feature. I'm probably gonna get a sign 3k. but i have done the compass thing. There is definitely more of a margin of error but will get the job done.

There was a thread a while back about rangefinders electronics only lasting for so many years which made me kind of wonder about the electronics that they use in the range finding binos. So warranty to me would be kind of important deal on those. And the other thread recently about range finders having the option to drop an On-X pin sounds pretty awesome I know The Sig3K and up offer that feature but if they offer it to for rain finding binoculars that would probably be the brand I'd roll with

Nah, ranger pro is the best bang for the buck I know of. Premixed ready to use is always gonna more expensive. But of course if you don't have a use in the future go for pre mixed.

If you spray it with glyphosate all over the leaves it will kill it down to the roots which will make it brittle and much easier to remove in the future. That's what I would do

The whole feral horses thing got me thinking. This kid killed a healthcare executive and suddenly the whole world is talking about how mest up our healthcare system is. To be clear I'm not condoning gunning down folks but I do wonder if a bunch of feral animals were liquidated would this topic get sent to the front lines on the news and force game and fish and the forest service to actually do something about what we and they all know is a problem? Or would the individual get hung out to dry. Thinking out loud here. My guess, hung out to dry even though game and fish should be backing up science. But if that was really the case would predator contest hunts be banned and would we even be talking about hound hunting?

Very cool of you to help out. Love the goat in the first pic! Some of the coolest people I've met have been on hunts. When my kid Caliche killed his cow a dude and his kid showed up just to help us load her up in my truck knowing that we could probably use the help. That will stick with me. This is super popular back east where I grew up and it's super tasty. Serve cold with cheese and crackers or with pretzels. I like mine in a little hot mustard. This is the Cabela's version but I think I'm gonna try the bearded butchers blend next time. I highly recommend you guys give it a whirl. Only so much smoke penatrates the casing, I'd highly suggest adding a bit of liquid smoke in with the seasonings.
