I also thought of the single lung hit possibility. What broadhead were you using? Did you verify yourself they were razor sharp? I believe I've made the mistake of using full broadhead in the past. Ever poked your finger through some real stretchy stuff? The hole closes tight when you pull your finger out. I believe the same exact thing happens with a dull broadhead. I'm not saying this is your scenario, but either way I hope you find your buck.

My experience is that cattle not only come to the water hole but don't leave the water hole when I'm at a water hole even after one gets pelted in the head with a rock. I didn't throw the rock though in case you were wondering.

Fair enough I guess. But I believe they are destroying areas. At least you could argue that the cattle that you say are more destructive are at least regulated by the ranchers. The horses have free reign though and that's no good. And from what I read that they supposedly push elk and other animals off of water holes, makes me think that at the very least something needs to be done.

They are in az, I've researched it extensively. Also in new mexico and since they are invasive no permit or license required!
