The stories in this thread explain why everyone should carry. I just met with an elderly lady in Tucson and I told her she should absolutely own a firearm based on our conversation. I told her one of my favorite phrases. When seconds matter the police are only minutes away.

Just curious, do you know "how" to hunt generally speaking? It's all about knowing how to glass honestly. Past that proper shooting techniques and knowing your range. Are you experienced really is what I'm asking.

Glass with binos on a tripod, in general imo this is probably the most important thing. Glass the burn up top, not sure if the leaves drop yet by your hunt pretty sure they will be down. Glass north facing slopes of all the fingers that drop off the west side. Check and see if the oaks have and are dropping acorns on those fingers. If they are that's a transition zone and a food source for deer dropping off the plateau for the winter. You will find deer this way for sure. Have good aim and make sure your shot counts. And here is the last most important thing. Come back and share your story with pictures. Have fun, can't wait to read how it went.

Lol at being very childish. Almost 50 with a 18 yo sense of humor

Aftermath, got all the leftovers in the oven baking out the moisture. About to start some nice garden beds with these as layer number 2.

What you guys doing today? Got some Maryland crabs and doing a crab and crawdad boil. Bout to throw a couple chickens on the smoker.

Interested. I follow backfire, he's done some similar tests and I was surprised to see some of the results especially on tracking. He recently last few months had a video where he suspected some lower and higher end scopes were made by the same factory. That in itself isn't troubling because I think this is done all the time on endless products. I've always assumed that the builder/buyer is paying for tighter machining tolerances even if the exterior tube is identical. Definitely looking forward to see where this rabbit hole takes you.

I wondered maybe if he was there to glass. In the one pic he has a tripod in his hand so maybe was a hunter.

I hear ya, and like I said if they knowingly did this then this is 100% on them I am simply giving them the benefit of the doubt. I got a lot of respect for you guys that do what you do not trying to take away from you and putting your life on the line in any way shape or form but I definitely have mistrust for the ATF and I do believe they railroaded people
-
And I'm still not convinced he gave them any.
-
Well even if this guy is 100% guilty he still gave a Fukton less firearms to the cartel then the federal government did. Fast and furious, memba dat?

It's a legal firearm it's none of the checkpoints business. If I had a 50 cal semi auto in my truck I'm not gonna tell the guys at the checkpoint either. So if that was said when selling the firearm that would be a moot point. If he was selling an illegal full auto yeah that would be a different story. Yes I read the article, and yes I absolutely believe the ATF has railroaded people. CRS YouTube guy even contacted the ATF on the selling of the key cards more then once from what I understand and he's doing time now. If you watch a lot of gun channels there is lots of fodder indicating some ATF enforcement has been suspect. Now if the alleged straw purchases are on video proving that they "knowingly" were making straw purchases then that's a different story as well. At the end of the day, I wasn't there and don't know what exactly took place. Just giving the benefit of the doubt. Not looking to get in a pissing match here, just voicing my opinion.
-
Yeah that was me, I feel bad for these folks. I talked to the owner but he asked me not to repeat any thing we discussed. Do I think they knowingly sold to a straw buyer? Heck no I don't, can't say more then that other then I'm not a fan of the ATF.

Yeah, I know badgers are around here, my mind just automatically went there. Most of this guys animals were from way north and Alaska. I'm definitely not gonna be at myself up about it.
-
My dumb arse thought it was a badger lol

You are probably right, figured probably some existed on a diy level but maybe not. I learned the hard way with an ex employee.
-
I know a guy that runs a security company and according to him because I honestly have no idea a lot of the diy ones that run through your internet have China ties and send your information there. Not that I'd be all that worried about it just passing that along. But since we're on the topic if anybody knows of a system that automatically uploads to the internet or doesn't I'd like to find one that I can install myself that will automatically call the cops if an alarm is triggered..

No I live in 35a so I hunt here and 30b mostly.

Totally being facetious.

What the phuk, are you calling him a liar because he didn't post a picture? Asking for a friend.

So you hunted deer in New and old Mex but need help on a youth tag in AZ? Glass north facing slopes early til 10am, then 4 til dark, rinse and repeat. Sit water outside of those hours. You are welcome. It is literally this simple.

Someone in my family drew a desert sheep tag!!

So I picked up a new customer northeast side. Got a Mama's to go from the Houghton spot. It blew my tits off. Better then Brooklyn on 4th avenue for sure. Only complaint is it coulda stayed in the oven a few more minutes but the flavor and sauce was dead nuts delicious. Mama was with me and doesn't love pizza and she was even thrilled. Thanks for the tip this was the best I've had in a long time.
