Well the back strap came out great! Perfectly tender and medium rare it was delicious. Unfortunately when searing the sirloin I had the pellet grill set to high and all the residual grease in there ignited and the sirloin all got over cooked. They were still good though.

Been years since I hunted it so dont really know overall what to expect there but a 90" buck is definitely a shooter.

Came across my biggest coues shed this morning, while trying hard to find its twin I spotted one tine sticking out out of the grass and leaves then another opposite and I thought no way could that be my first full dead head?! The shed was so thick at the base I wondered if it was a hybrid. Serious mass on this thing. The dead head I think is between 90-95 compared to my last buck. Any guesses on what the mutant would be? Anyway I'm freaking stoked!

Keep glassing the burn! Get out in the early a.m. and glass while it's still dark by the time there is light they are already in bed or moving to bed quickly you have like 10 minutes of light glass and they're going to be gone they are in the burn I promise you

What's the difference between these and store bought? Are a lot of store bought farm raised?

Never attempted this... So my older bro and wife are coming next week for one day. Really want to make a special meal. I'd like to try to use a section of the back strap and maybe do like a smoked prime rib then try this. Any killer recipes? Can I smoke it long enough to get the smoke flavor without drying it out? Also can I just vac seal it and boil it in a big pressure cooker pot? Never done anything like this so I dont wanna screw it up. Help!

Ok. Wasnt sure if it should be seated to put it on the smoker or not. Might just have to go get me a cast iron griddle. I pull the trigger on the $99 amazon one and got the 13 quart bin and lid.
