I wouldn't be to quick to discredit the " noise" there is a lot of solid info to help the OP get started off in the right direction. I'll agree there is nothing like working with someone 1 on 1, and or video taping one's self and asking is great as well. But you cant discredit the good input stated above. I'm sure a lot of people on here including myself have extensive archery knowledge and are more than willing to share whatever info we can to help people be more successful and confident in the field. As for myself I'm not going to pretend I know jack about rifles because I really don't still learning as I go. But like the OP by reading and listening I'm learning. A lot of the info given should help him if he's not able to get to a archery shop or find someone to help. Worst case watch some video's read a few magazines every little bit can help. I'm more than willing to help with whatever I can, id rather try and help the guy and better his chances then him be out there flinging arrows and loosing a animal or 2.

If your still looking to get a pack and are interested in the Badlands PM me...

Sounds like to me as stated above your dropping your arm. Anticipating your shot placement (trying to watch the arrow) a well executed shot should disappear in your pin when the bow goes off. You get that to happen your in the $$$. Other thing is make sure your not applying to much palm pressure and preloading your riser. Keep an eye on you bow level.

Wasn't alive but kinda cool, my Grandpa was part of the team that pulled it out of the Ocean and also they have it at display in Kansas at the Cosmosphere. Remember going there when we where younger and getting all the stories from him and checking it out. Pretty cool stuff.

Agreed although not ideal at least he's trying. Shoot as much as you can, but don't wear yourself out that's when you start to develop bad habits.

Sweet set up man, Need to get me something like this. GLWS

Anyone else have "cheap" rifles that shoot stupid accurate?
PseAZ replied to lionhunter's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I wondered this myself. I'm new to the rifle game myself, and I defiantly have my share of expensive hobbies. But also wondered why people spend so much on a gun when so many shoot so good out of the box for a fraction of the cost. Don't get me wrong its a open ended question. I spend a lot on stuff most probably wouldn't. Defiantly going to be interesting to read everyone's response. -
Where are you located? I would recommend finding a shop or something to atleast get you pointed in the right direction. There's a lot too it from being fitted to your equipment to having proper form and shot execution.

weight being the main thing, I would say at the moment most will favor the Btx especially with all you can do with it with the different lens and such.

I Hunt with a badlands 2200 have for years its a great pack, Picked by a Eberlestock X2 last year have been using it for scouting, think it would be nice for hunting tho as well.
-
Just started back on my meal plan figure keep on it till hunting season starts, was on it for 3 weeks and started seeing alittle change before my shoot now back to work. Been doing a gym version of P90X as well so far seems to be working fairly well. Need to work on my endurance some but hopefully in 5 weeks ill be ready to roll.

my current go 2 is badlands base layers, scent killer suit, and a wool vest with wind blocker. 5 years now worked great in December -January hunts without any issues. ill usually wear a short sleeve shirt too incase I get something or take off after something I can strip layers quick and go.

Another thing that is nice about the OnXmaps is you can download the whole unit so you have access to it and anything you have saved Being off line. One thing we bought last year was a Anker battery pack the one I got will recharge my phone about 6 times. If your going to try and backpack hunt, Depending on the time you have I would to a base camp then map out a few areas and hike/hunt there then return to camp and head to the other spots if needed. Your glasses will be doing a lot of the walking for you, find High points and saddles and glass glass glass. I haven't made it to the unit in years but if there's anything I can do to help ya find some country feel free to PM me.
-
We use the heck out of our OnXmaps its a great tool, if you can swing it defiantly worth its weight and gold. Make sure you have a good pair of binos and a good tripod should be a good hunt

So the wife and I just bought our 1st 5th wheel this past weekend and we are trying to get it set up. Wondering what are some of your guys must have's and anything we need to try and pick up before we take it out. So far we have the basic stuff, bedding, dishes all that kind of stuff. I plan on making a tool box, I have a few spare tarps and tie downs. Thanks for the input guys.
