    Antelope permits down.

Arizona needs to put a bounty on coyotes like Utah has. Instead we spend a sh!t load of money, for AZGFD employees to fly around in a helicopter for a few days, to scare a bunch of coyotes with guns. Seriously look it up. They spend a bunch of money to pretend they're on some ranch in Texas shooting hogs from a helicopter. If we would take that same amount of money (that they waste flying around wasting money), and set it aside for coyote bounties, we could do a LOT more good with it. AZGFD could give everyone 25-50 bucks a coyote, until their helicopter money runs out. They would be a thousand times more effective having hunters do it, than those idiots.

What kind of optics are you looking to trade for?
  14. Just wanted to do a quick share of the buck I killed this year. I was lucky enough to harvest my first 100"+ coues buck. The area I hunted this year had a lot of people hunting it, which made it tough. In fact the morning I killed this buck 2 other groups of hunters were sitting just above this buck, and a bigger one. I sat patiently hoping they hadn't seen them. At roughly 8:30 am, they got up and left. I couldn't believe it. I got my stuff together, and hiked almost 2 miles around to a better vantage point, and got set up. I glassed the bowl I had seen them disappear into until 4:45 pm. I hadn't been able to find them the entire day. Just when I thought they had given me the slip, I saw them sneaking out. The big one slipped out with no shot opportunity, but the smaller buck decided to pause for one last look. I ranged him at 502 yards, dropped my bag on the ground, dialed my drop, and held for 8 mph for wind. I settled in, exhaled, squeezed the trigger, and the shot went off. I watched the cross hairs come back, never leaving his vitals. He dropped dead before he hit the ground. The old 7mm Rem Mag still lives up to its history of one shot, one kill. I quartered him, and packed him out that night. Although he wasn't the biggest of the two, I'm still proud to say that I finally killed a truly mature coues buck, and I broke the 100" mark. He was scored by a friend of mine, that scored him at 102 7/8" (16 7/8" and 17 1/8" main beams, a 14 4/8" spread, and 27" of mass). He didn't quite make book, but he still made it over to the taxidermist. Lol. You can see by his teeth, that he was an older buck. I'm not sure exactly how old he was, but we're guessing 7-8 years old. Any ways, thanks for looking. Hopefully I can draw a tag again next year. I can't wait to go back.

    Christensen arms 7 mag

Bergers like to be seated very close to the lands in my experience. When I shot the 168 VLDs, my go to load was 69 gr H1000, .010" off the lands, norma brass, and wlrm primers. I have seen that load work in 3 other 7mm Rem Mags too (one savage, two howas). I have since put a custom barrel on my rifle, and shoot the 175 eldx. I also shoot the 162 eldx out of a 7 SAUM. They are the easiest bullet I've ever worked a load up for honestly. They shot great no matter where I loaded them off the lands, and with almost every powder weight I tried. H4831SC seems to be a great powder choice for the 160 grain bullets. It's not the fastest but its been VERY accurate.

    Super Bonus Point

Yes I'm very aware. I didn't say it was a bad thing now did I? I said, and I quote, "It's genius on AZGFDs part. Sucks for us, but will make them a butt load of money every year." Edit: And what I mean by "it sucks for us", is that any time the price goes up on anything, it sucks. No one wants to spend more money. Simple as that. I realize the money is for a good cause.

    Unit 10 no luck

10 is a huge unit, with limited glassing. Unless you really know the unit, it can be tough. There isn't a 350 bull around every tree, like people seem to believe.

    Super Bonus Point

This is basically going to force people to purchase these extra bonus points. If you don't buy it, you'll be one point behind the guy willing to do it. It's genius on AZGFDs part. Sucks for us, but will make them a butt load of money every year.

    DIY game bags

I like these. They are very nice game bags, and are 100% reusable. They come in a nice carrying bag with orange marking tape, and latex gloves. I'm guessing these bags should last at least 10 years or more. They are super lightweight, and don't take up much room in your bag. https://www.blackovis.com/ovis-sacks-lightweight-game-bags

Late season elk hunt in 3b

I'm assuming you have the December hunt? If so I might be able to help you. I drive through 3B every day on the way to work. I'd be willing trade some info on some black tail info. Shoot me a PM.
  22. I've had a pair of vulture hd's before. They were 10x, but they were decent for the price. I'd imagine the 15's might be pretty decent. If you can swing it, try and find a pair of used Kaibab HD's.
  23. Most rental companies will send you a return label with the optics. So when you're done with your hunt, slap the label back on the box and dump it off at the nearest shipping company. It's super simple. Rent these, and you'll be set. Only problem is you'll want a pair for yourself after you use them. You WILL need a tripod for these fyi. You CAN'T use them off hand. The rental comes with a good tripod and adapter, so you really don't have to worry about it. http://www.optics4rent.com/productdetail3.html

280 AI load data 162 gr ELDx

I use RCBS competition dies for my 7 saum. My buddy reloads for the 280 ai, and he uses redding dies.
  25. I'm with Red Rabbit. A quality pair of 15's over a spotter any day of the week. Glass is SUPER important for finding coues during the october and november hunts. Good glass can equal being successful or not, honestly. I glass with Swarovski 15x56 SLC HD binos 90% of the time from my tripod, and switch over to my Swarovski 25-50x65 ats hd spotting scope for verification of size. But you can totally get along with just the 15's and no spotter. Glass does make a difference. My brother brought his Vortex Diamond backs with me on a few hunts. Even after trying to point deer out to him, he just couldn't see them with his binos. While yes you will glass a lot at 500-600 yards, you will want the ability to see well beyond that. I've glassed coues bucks at 2400+ yards before. If you can't find them you can't kill them. Coming from WA is a long ways to come just to realize you need better binos. So if you can't afford to buy the best, I'd recommend renting the best.
