I have the opportunity to harvest 4 Coues deer this year

Good luck on your last tag of the year donkeyman. I've hunted coues for over 20 years in southern az and I've only killed one booner. Even if your last tag is tag soup you've had a heck of a year. -
Maybe something wrong with the application? Only thing I can think of.

My gun used to be pretty and I still drink cheap beer...gonna have to agree to disagree I guess

That's the way to do it. Congratulations on a good whitetail. Always nice to have dad's help.

Good buck. Good story. Thanks for posting. Shaking too much to keep my binos still....that's awesome. We used to tie the front and hind legs together and throw em on like a backpack. Good memories right there. Congrats

Was a tough hunt for us. We saw a total of one buck the entire hunt. I started this hunt with a target buck in mind that I got on cam last year, but not knowing if he was still alive this year, I wasn't overly optimistic about finding him. I didn't end up finding my target buck, but after hunting the entire hunt and not seeing a single buck I was definitely stoked to see this guy at first light this morning. My dad and I started out early and got onto a small hilltop in the dark. Right about first light spotted this guy. After the shot he ran and disappeared in some trees. Waited about a half hour to see if he might try to slip out and he never did. Feeling confident in my shot decided to go check things out. Getting close to the area he disappeared, he stands up , seeing only head and neck an off hand shot put him down.

Thanks for all of you that made comments. I was going to euro mount myself but I decided to take him to big browns for a shoulder mount.....

My target buck was a stud whitetail. I might keep hunting for him and might show my old pics in the future

Unfortunately for the two of us! I'm a long way from a sheep tag but I will disclose that this is 37a

If you use a small diameter left hand drill bit to start a hole in the broken stud then change to a larger diameter left hand drill bit the edges of the smaller hole should provide a surface that the lager bit can bite. Use a decent amount of downward force right off the bat with the larger bit. If you have access to a .125 end mill, flattening out the likey uneven top surface of the broken stud first is best. This method has worked twice for me on my tacoma. I don't imagine a tundra is much different.

How'd You Get Your First Buck?
Tropicalmulch replied to Yuma Outdoorsman's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
My first mule deer buck, since this is posted in mule deer hunting, was about 6 years ago Dec otc archery. Was a Sunday and I work early on Monday. I got up over a puddle of water thinking things will surely come in after feeding. At about 3pm I woke up to a couple does and fawns coming in, nothing with horns following. With my little bit of action I had hopes things would pick up. Wrong, so before dark I think to myself, let's get outta here, relax a bit and be ready for my 3 am wake-up for work. On my hike out I top a ridge and take a look. Deer everywhere in that canyon! Only a couple of small bucks and they're towards the truck but no cover and eyes everywhere. F it I hike straight line towards em, after all I don't even really wanna kill anything at this point anyway. Just wanna get home and kick it. After hiking straight across an open rocky slope the smallest buck and a couple does are still standing there looking at me. He's broadside at 55 yards. This is also my first deer kill with a bow. So I think to myself, man, do you really wanna deal with this right now for a dinner buck? I'll just draw and see how it feels. We'll I also released that arrow and that buck ran about 50 more yards toward the truck. I wasnt a long way from the truck but I'm pretty sure I was worthless at work the next day. Small mule fork tasted good. My first and only archery deer kill. My first buck was 1995 in 36b...December, little 3x2 with eye guards chasing a doe. Shot em in the flank on the trot. He disappeared in a little draw for a second but followed exactly where the doe came out. 275 yards was my uncles estimate. Hit him in the neck right where it connected to the skull. I was aiming for heart and lungs -
Ive had the marathon seat covers for about 5 years now maybe more and I've been happy with them.
