Looking for a hunting/scouting partner in north 34a
Outdoorlife602 replied to broadhead's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I drew 34a Nov 30th hunt. Let's see if we can work something out. -
I just bought one for my elk unit since Flatline doesn't make it. Overall, not near as detailed as FL and the unit boundaries are not marked very well but I guess it's better than nothing. The material is nice and does seem like it would last longer but I wouldn't recommend them.

Be glad to help as well. PM me.

I am still in shock but I managed to pull a 13B rifle tag this year in the random draw. Prior to the hunt, I've read countless articles and forum posts about the unit. I know it's a huge unit with low densities of deer. All the country looks like great mule dear areas but they just aren't there. I've read all the info on the game and fish website as well as every other hunting site that has published info. I've called several guides already to get some prices but unfortunately, I'm a younger guy and cannot afford to pay $4 or $5k dollars for one. I am looking to connect with some other hunters who have been lucky enough to draw this tag. It looks like I'll be doing this hunt myself and want to make sure I am focusing on the right areas. I plan on spending several days scouting beforehand but the unit is so large and all looks so good, it's hard to pick out areas. Anyone willing to share info please PM me. I would be more than willing to share info about some other units such as 30A, 20C, 17B or 3AC in return. Thanks in advance!

Thanks Rut (great buck btw) and coach for your opinions and feedback!
-
Incurs and 208Muley, thank you for the info. That helps a lot and gives me some spots to start looking up in onxmaps/google earth before I go out to scout.
-
Thanks guys, I really appreciate the tips! I know I drew the tag of a lifetime and want to make the most of it. Keep 'em coming!
-
Thanks guys. I put a call into Larry and waiting for him to call me back. Flatlander - I'm not holding out for a 230 and enjoy the hunt as much or more than the kill. I know I hit the lotto and am incredibly excited for the hunt even if I can't hire a guide.
-
Sniper, that's a good idea. Any recommendations on an outfitter who does scouting packages in that area?
-
Thanks guys. Opticnerd, that's crazy they might as well have shot out the window.... Tac, that's not a bad idea and thanks for the tip on locations.
-
Rag Horn, I have the same tag and it will be my first time hunting the unit. Are you solo? I wouldn't mind teaming up for some scouting or even for the hunt.
