I am betting swivel is close to correct. these groups always complain the sky is falling and that they are hunters and fishermen, but yet you never see them give there name in full or even partially on there own website. so who are these clowns?

putting 2 spotting scopes with a bracket is not as simple as it sounds or looks. a good bracket is every bit worth 600+but they dont work well on high magnification. we did a few sets for doctors back in the 90's for a few mule deer and dall sheep guys. Major pain in the butt you have to many axis to worry about and even being off .005 with give you weird results. some might think there ok but those people are generally happy with $50 tascos. you generally wont get a clear crisp image you will get headachs . mainly with the higher magnifications. too do it correctly you also need to be able to adjust each scope individually with a adjustment screw (mount) in both up and down as well as right and left and be able to rotate each one so they match. most of the time the bases that hold the spotting scope to centerline of the lens are not repeatable between 2 spotting scopes of the same make and model. that also has a huge play in how the scopes mount. The guys we did the mounts for were happy with them but noticed that with the higher magnifications they were a pain in the butt. couple of those guys said f-it and bought the double doctors. I used the set-up for one of my north rim hunts to test it out for him ;) that lasted all but 3-4 hours of glassing then went to a single for the rest of the hunt. Back then we didnt have lasers to set them up correctly, today they are avail but not many people use them. its better just to buy a pair of high power cheap binocs

Yeah there was a couple of them, one closer to lake pleasant was a family of inbreeds, looked like Characters from deliverance. we quite going down that road even armed.. then if you went the other way south of them there was a paramilitary type group. they had 50cal mounted in a jeep blowing a old building apart, guys all over the hills watching our every move. we decided to head out rather quickly. funny part BIL was a sherrifs deputy and we were in his suv. he and a few other guys went back the next day, they were gone. 2 weeks later they set up camp again but with out the machine guns. that was in the early 80's Then there was the old miners we ran into while riding dirtbikes up the side of the mountain on the old 2 tracks. most of those guys were cool, but a few would leave you with the feeling you might not make it home. we always used the dirtbikes up there to scout for deer as it would just beat the crap out of the trucks.

Snapshot that looks like a really nice clean truck. however unless your getting that truck for around 4-5k it wouldnt be worth it. mainly due to mileage. consider youll need to put a new motor in it shortly, and definnately suspension. tranny should last 300-400+K miles. taking to get it inspected will tell you only one thing. it works at that time and is in good general condition. but with that many miles you can loose a timing belt, blow a head gasket spin a bearing etc etc at anytime. a nice clean looking truck is always deceiving to buy, cause most people see clean not the mechanical parts they only last xxx amount of time.

who cares, they paid for it they can do what they want with it. whats the difference between them and the guys that get a tag and decide no to go for any reason, or if you wanna get more picky whats the difference between them and the guys that wont shoot anything under xxx size?

we hear tons of them at night, called in a few during the day(in the pines). I'll be doing some night hunting up there this year for sure as its open again. kids up there today and tomorrow trying to get yotes and sheds, no luck so far they havent seen an elk or even a deer. we didn't last weekend either she said its dead up there they saw on squirrel .and we didnt hear any at night or 1st thing in the morning like normal either. we have had good luck on the flats(drake road) but you have to shoot 500 yards or more not a problem for me . we will call them in and they come right to the edge of the junipers a few at a time.. That pond on the south side od road we usually sit up on the bluff in that small stand of pines and shoot them walking to the tank.

Yup its a DNR department of National resources. quite a few states are set up like that. everything goes through the state government. about 15 years ago a few people were trying to get our state to Change to a DNR instead of having a separate game and fish entity like we do now. While people bitch about Our G&F the last thing you want is the State government to get ahold of our G&F dept.

Took the kid and her boyfriend out shed hunting today, She found the small elk shed in the 1st 10 mins then the old muley she 10 mins later. 1st time we went out specifically looking for sheds and she finds some. Last time we were on a turkey shed hunt trip and she found that deadhead.

LMAO, that kid couldnt find a shed in a pile of shed's He would walk right by them looking at his cel phone. Daughter kept telling him you walk to fast and your not looking. it was funny as shoot cause I used to tell her that when she was like 8. she went back up this am to look for more but in different spots as that on road is pretty rough and she wanted to hit some other areas that we hunt were we find an occasional shed. said They were going to hike down to the bottom of sycamore canyon from J.D. dang last I talked to her, kid loves to hike.

I believe what eagle eye is saying is why do they wait a while before the air tankers? not arguing the cost of it. that being said the air tankers were on the I-17 fire last week with in 1-2 hours.

I have about a dozen .243's aside from my 300 win mags its my Favorite Caliber. There all shooters. Have one in a winchester pre 64 couple remington 700's and the rest in rugers from early m77 in both varmit and regular barrels and ruger number #'1 in both varmit and 1b's , oh yeah one other one a Savage striker bolt action pistol 1st year they came out. I have a couple of 6mm rugers in varmit both in 77 and ruger #1, but just dont like them not nearly as accurate as the .243. Always thought about maybe a 1-8 or 1-9 for heavier bullets but always came to the conclusion of why. ive killed 2 lopes with it numerous deer and a few elk mostly 300+ yards. still might though as I have a few old mark X short actions I could use.

Like bohntr said pick a spot and go, heck we just drive when we get tired we pull over and camp. Matter of Fact Daughter and I are trying to go in the next few weeks. last trip before she goes to boot camp in 4.5 weeks. were going to start in 13b looking for lopes and rams and sheds, then work over to 12 east. Figured I would show her all the cool artifact spots she didnt see he few times she went up there when I had tags and she was too young to hunt.
