I never knew the green light them up better. Which brand models of lights do you have do you have? Last year I borrowed a matco brand flashlight put some red transparent shim stock over it and it worked better than my cheap red light and smaller too.

Kevin they are cool looked through a few. only feild time I have is in texas on a ram hunt a few of us went out with one just to check it out. It was early 2000's so not the technology as today. few years ago cabelas had some cheap ones along with some expensive ones. night yote hunting is a blast but at the same time erie. friend got me into using red lights, I bought a cheap one. it was ok, his good one was awsum. thats a next item on my list is a good red light for nighttime yotes. edit cause of above post. Yeah you can only use handheld lights not inferred or thermo in this state for yotes.

Inferred and thermo is actually pretty cool, I wouldnt use it on big game but would love to use it for yotes at night. spotlighting was frowned upon due to poachers using it. your allowed to use it for hunting coons and yotes at night providing its not plugged into a motor vehicle ie boat, truck etc etc. its kinda fun to drive around at night to see whats out there with a spotlight. we used to do it all the time with the kids. its no different then driving roads at night with your head lights on looking for game.

Thermo imaging binocs are better but they run about 4k-7 k for good ones and have up to 18x if I remember. Unfortunately there not alowed to use in this stated for taking game even yotes. in texas and other states they are legal and used for pigs and yotes. but depending on how the law is exactly written banning them in AZ for hunting if guides buy them and write them off on there taxs they can get in trouble for using them in the aid of taking game. if they dont write them off on tax's then there is NO PROOF they are used for the aid in taking game. same goes for cameras if they actually do ban them. the G&F dept would then have proof they used them for aiding in the taking of game.

to fill you in on reality that rule passing tags along to kids. was exactly that and specifically made for exactly that. all those issues were brought up and questioned and discussed. along with other senerios like uncles aunts, family friends etc etc. its sole purpose to to get kids out hunting at a young age to keep them interested. it wasnt playing/working the system as it was discussed on how to fail proof it so no one could play the system, hence why uncle aunts cousins are not included.

I would like to get someday a .458 win mag and a 375 H&H in ruger #1 years back when I bought the 416 rigby I was looking for loaded ammo at cabelas. stopped in the gun library 1st and they had a something/3000. I thought it was a wildcat someone did on a ruger #1 so I passed. it was only 700 bucks if I recall and had nice wood. I was over at brunos the next day and was talking to lester he found me some cases and I thought the dies( i thought I bought them maybe not) Anyhow he goes too bad you couldnt find a ruger #1 in a something /3000 there really nice. I am like WTF I never heard of it but theres one down at cabelas Yesterday. I said I was going back to buy it after the info from him. it was gone when I got there.

SHORT ANSWER YES. People take advantage of it and not just for hunting, you'd be surprised what someone can Do /get away with claiming they have a disability or medical problem, I have seen it for 28 years years because NO ONE is allowed to ask or question the disability with out being Canceled out or sued. Perfect example WAS Medical MJ any quack doc could write anyone a prescription. I say "WAS" because its legal now in this state kinda, but federal law still says its Illegal.

Naw i'm getting old we all are. I still wont put in for archery and get a crossbow permit wether I can pull back a bow or not. I'll continue to put in for rifle permits and I love archery hunting I just suck at it and I'm not really into elk hunting I just like calling them in for other people. Doesn't hurt my draw odd's I dont play the draw odd game. I put in for what I want what seasons I want. if I get drawn great if not no biggy. been that way my whole life. I get more satisfaction hunting yotes and varmits than big game anyhow. making excuse's and throwing in emotion to justify things isnt really fair in most cases. so he's got a 700 crossbow that doesnt shoot that well. BFD I know guys that have +3000 plus dollar rifles with $1500 scopes and they cant hit the broad side of a barn unless they put it on a tripod then they can hit the door. some people just cant shoot and when you get older for some people it gets worse. I'm not saying this in a bad way about your Father. My father couldnt hit crap with a rifle over 150 yards unless it was in a blind or on a bench.

I really wish you hadnt posted again, Im not singling you out but your posts are a perfect example to why anyone can play the system and get a crossbow permit during the archery season. your wife has a bad shoulder I understand that BUT can she shoot a rifle or muzzy? if yes then people in her situation should only be allowed to put in for rifle or muzzy. Dont care what she has a passion for that not the point. there are early rifle bull tags she should put in for one of those. you yourself have a crossbow permit, you said so in a post above. but yet you can shoot a rifle just fine and a bow from what you have said but yet you play the crossbow permit game.. This leaves the game open for rifle hunters who cant shoot a bow worth a crap can put in for archery tag cause they want to hunt early archery Bull then get a crossbow permit. I'm assuming the Crossbow permit was made to allowed people that got hurt between the time they drew the tag and the time of there hunt. to still use there tag. I bet they had NO intention of letting someone who obviously Cant shoot a bow for what ever reason put in for archery tags then change it for a crossbow permit. Unfortunately G&F trust people in most ways when they make there game laws. when they do that then the people who play the system always find a way to cheat the system so to speak.

Yes I drew a tag one year daughter drew a tag the next year I drew a tag the next year. 3 consecutive tags in 3 consecutive years with 3 consecutive Early archery bull elk tags. we were up there for the entire season maybe minus a few days for her homework and my work. not to mention we were actually up there the archery deer seasons 4-5 days a week for the entire seasons for 5 years except the holiday weekend and prior to 2013 3-4 days a week during the archery deer seasons as well as a couple of days during the elk season when we didnt have elk tags. those 2 tags I got I gave to my daughter she only drew one( the middle one). not lucky I got 3 lope tags in 4 years 5 or 6 years before these tags and those lope tags were drawn with a early rifle bull tag and 2 13 a tags Champ permits I called Crossbow tags as well might have been my bad in calling them champ permits instead cross bow permits. If you would have read what I said in the begining you would have notice what I said. I quoted it and pasted it here since your a little slow and obviously didnt read it.. I didnt count the guys that we saw on the road that Had CHAMP markings all over there trucks as they looked legit, they were obvious shooting from the vehicle I would assume as they had a Driver for each one. or the ones we see during the early archery deer seasons. and yes I know more than a few personally that applied for a CHAMP or Crossbow permit during the archery season that they had a tag for because they got injured. I wont name the names as some were here on this forum Azbasszone forum and a few other forums, they can come out and say it or not. one poor dude fell off a ladder the 1st few days of his hunt, then bought a crossbow and and hunted the rest of the season. BTW I know exactly what a Champ permit is and helped a friend(whom I met on a forum many years ago and in person many times build a shooting system( i only did mechanical he did the electronics) so he could take out a severely handicap person out hunting in the wilderness of Wyoming. he was a older rancher in wy and volunteer his land owner tags, horses and equipment for severely handicapped hunters that had no use of most of there body parts. the one I mentioned above only had movement of his right wrist and fingers. This rancher would do 3 hunts a season. The guy was a incredible person. I have a son who is Handicapped and has a ton of friends who are Handicapped so I tend to pay attention to things like that.

Tag swapping. guy gets drawn for archery elk or deer or what ever. somehow he is rendered unable to use a bow. goes to doc. , doc gives letter, calls or what ever to change his archery elk deer or what ever Tag to allow the Champ uses. during that same Archery season, same unit etc etc.. I cant speak for 2019 but 2013-2017 I can. usually about half dozen people in Unit 8 alone have Champ permits during that early archery bull hunt. like I stated above. if I recall the permits for early archery bull were 200. those were just the guys hunting on the south west side, as I generally dont hunt anywhere else in that unit as there is no need to. Thats what I was trying to avoid , I have no problem with crossbows or airbows proving its during the general season or a champ season. more power to them. yes I think a crossbow season should be ok'd always have. but at the same time They have a muzzy season and a rifle ie general season where I believe crossbows can be used legally just like someone can use archery during those seasons. I have no problems with Champ people shooting out of vehicles either I think its great as I have known people who cant walk for a few reasons but love to hunt, Due to the Champ permits they can. But thats not what were talking about. its Someone Knowing cant hunt with a bow shouldnt ( In my opinion) be putting in for archery only seasons and then getting a Champ permit to use other means on that tag. basically they are taking advantage of the system just to get a better chance at a tag. its kinda like transgender Men going into womens athletic competition. they cant do the sport like it was meant because there " inability" to compete "physically", so they Change genders and enter in a easier class for a better outcome with their "physical inability"
