If your talking about the vegas archery shoot its a freaking blast. if your going to watch it its boring as heck kinda like watching grass grow in the winter. I dont shoot it my kid does and has for the last 4 years. The warden and I just hit the casino for 4-5 days. She wants to shoot again this year but work and school is keeping her busy. if she starts practicing again in dec and jan w will be there. South point is a great place as they have things to do for the kids so the adults can be free of them. movies bowling kids game room etc etc. burger place is pretty good as well as the small cafe on the south side. the buffet sucks balls. the prime rib place is fantastic as well as the steak house and chinese food place (daughter set up a dinner there for the bowtech team last year). the mexican place isnt bad. we never left southpoint for 5 days and everyone had a good time. but you gotta shoot like this for 3 days even in the young adult championships just to be in the top 10 shoot in the 297's and your in the top 40. this was her practice scores average 297-299 for months prior adults its all x count cause there are tons of 300s. flights are better for adults as the pay per flight Delw

those pics are awsum. only time I seen a fox off the ground that hi was when I shot one off the side of a 200 foot cliff with a .220 swift. he flipped over backwards and flew all the way to the bottom of sycamore canyon.

haha you do know he said Forky right? it doesnt take hunting skill or sneakiness to get with in 12 yards of a forky, even longshooter can get that close to one. Of coarse he would miss even with a shotgun.

You guys be dang careful with that especially where you store it. any contact with Glyserin will start a fire..( some cooking oils have glyserin in it) when i was a kid in the 60s and early 70s we would take potassium permaginate and pour out a small pile, then a few drops of glyserin on top of that and anywhere from 15 seconds to 24 hours you would have ignition. all depends on how hot the glycerin is. we used to take a brick of blackcats sit them outside of someones house we didnt like at night put a dixie cup of potassium permagante and few drops of glycerin in it set the brick of blackcats on the top and go to bed. usually about 3-6 hours later they would go off and of course we were all sleeping so we couldnt be blamed. back in the late 80;s a machine shop I was working at caught fire. fires happened frequintly in the dumpster .people who smoked got blamed. then inside the shop caught fire of coarse it was close to all the magnesium and titanium which really got the fire going. come to find out 1-2 months after the fire the lapping compound had patasium permagante in it and the oil we used as a lubricated on the lapping machine was wesson oil which had glycerin in it. thats why every time after night shift went home the fires started in the early morning as we ran the lap and dumped the trash (oily paper towels). time delay. I learned all this stuff in 6th grade chemistry class in a navy DOD school in Japan. out teacher was cool we used the concoction to light rice paper balloons filled with hydrogen and had a small cup holding the permaginate and glycerin. the balloons were 6-12 feet in diameter and they went way the heck up in the air before igniting.was a cool sight for sure Delw

I am thinking a popular community hunting spot in the north east, like garland prairie. you cant drive down the dirt road going to camp with out seeing a cow or bull anywhere in that unit except that area.

Congrats to your Daughter, that is awsum. too the dad. hunting with a daughter is an absolute blast. time runs out really fast 10-17. This year I realized my daughter is not a little girl anymore and will be off to college soon.its going to really suck. we have a ton of fun when hunting. and she is hard core. Daughters are more hardcore and determined than boys there age when it comes to hunting. they just dont stop they keep on going. I was surprised the last 7 years i havent had a heart attack yet and can still keep up with her. we always have fun. My father always took me hunting/fishing when I was young till he passed away 6 years ago. best times of my life aside from hunting with my kids was hunting with my Father even if we didnt get anything. I know he felt that way as well as he told me. even when we had arguments we still hunted/ fished together he never ONCE didnt forget to ask me if I wanted to go. I do the same with my daughter , she gets all my tags if she doesnt draw her own till I cant legally sign them over to her anymore. Keep it up as it will put a smile on your face every time you see someone else post about there daughter or son hunting. Tom I just looked at a map to see were you went, we were up there driving around looking for deer 2 thursdays ago before we went up for elk. lots of lopes in that area along the pipeline road.

Ive done these quick trips when I was younger. seemed like a good thing to do at the time, after its all done and said and you think back its a waste of time for the simple reason you dont get to enjoy anything its all rush rush rush. save some time up and do a week at a min later on. there more enjoy able even if you dont tag. did 4 trips to colorado with my dad and a close friend. we never hunted/set foot in these wilderness areas before that alone took a few days to figure out what the heck we were doing as we went up blind. but we had a freaking blast and remember them to this day. if you think about it even going up to the north rim and hunting for 2-3 days is not enough time and thats when you know the area like the back of your hand. if it was me and you wanted to get away, I would grab a rifle head up to the north rim and shoot some yotes and look for deer and sheds. before I travels all the way to utah for a elk hunt.

Cool vid there a blast too call in no matter how big or small they are. last sat evening we called a pretty decent one in and my daughter was belly crawling under the bushes to it cause it wouldnt come around the brush, the elk and her are looking at each other a few yards away and and she goes " WOW you have pretty eyes" LMAO" she drew back on that bull 3-4 times but couldnt get a clean shot. he hung around for 45 mins playing cat and mouse. then he decided to walk off. we walked back to the jeep about 3 miles away and called him in at least a half dozen times just out of her bow range and in really thick crap. trying to go back out this up coming week for a day or 2 so she can tag one.

In the 40+ years I been hunting I never heard the word harvast by hunter (that includes Japan most of the pacific NW texas the rocky states and even a few east coast states). Except when Political correctness started. most of those people are yupiies, from big cities back east and Ca. usually young people in there 30's Harvest started showing up about the time the animal rights wakos started hammering on the hunters on the internet and all the gay hunting tv shows came out. they had to make it more politically correct cause hunting and or killing an animal is bad. But Harvesting is ok. Heck man there some gay politically correct hunting websites that will ban you (after you been warned) for using the word "killed" and even for showing the animal in a picture were you can visible see the wound otr a slight trace of blood.

it got pretty bad on the bass fishing seen with the tweekers stealing crap while your sleeping for the last 10 years.One guy was sleeping in his boat at alamo lake and they ripped everything off they could from the boat. graphs, rods reels tackle etc etc then at the one of the recent cop tourneys they ripped off a ton of cops

I can't relate. id rather sleep at night with a clean conscience knowing I did the right thing, end the suffering. I couldnt give a shoot less what the government says about that. And that's the example you set for them, no respect for the animals? Do you know what respect is? trying to figure out what I am missing here. you know how I type, things always come out a little different what example am I / or not setting for them? should I pray to Allah after every animal killed?, drink the blood, do a rain dance, eat the heart raw? you tell me what I am doing wrong. cause I dont follow this respect part. other than trying your best to make a quick clean shot and put the animal down fast. but then its better to use a rifle than a bow unless your a piss pour shot with a rifle too.

I'm not condoning what the guy did or didnt do. I wasnt there and dont know the whole story and dont know his side. what I am saying is that you know maybe the guy got excited thought the animal was not mortally wounded, he could have been a new hunter who knows.. no one knows but the guide and his hunter that was there at the time. its part of the game with archery hunting, unless the animal drops withing a 100 yards you really dont know whats going to happen when you find it. alot of us wait x amount of time before we take off tracking it. alot of crap can happen in that time

I dont harvest I kill. Yes I have wounded animals and it sucks big time. you do your best to find them,but &*&& happens wether it be a rifle or a bow. I'm not the PC type Cant stand the Word Harvest thats for farmers not for hunters. Hunters go and kill an animal to eat or reduce the population.

The crack whores and meth heads are all over small towns you always have to watch your stuff with in 20-30 miles of a small town. in unit 8 we see a few of them driving in cars up and down the roads not near as many in at as other units there looking to steal stuff nothing else. they usually only hang around main roads get off a main road and your stuff will be safer. kinda hard to do if your in a 5th wheel. we tent camp and always back in the middle of nowhere. havent had any problems except in 6a as well as on the rim close to payson strawberry pine paulden and a few other places.
