leilacl replied to leilacl's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Thanks, so much! Hey if you know anyone in SV looking for a puppy, send them my way! We have two more lab pups we need to find a home for (: -
We had two people back out of sales so we have two puppies left to reserve-- a black female and a yellow male. They are 5 1/2 weeks old, will receive their shots after 6 weeks, and will be ready to go home August 17th. $450 each. Please message me with questions. Puppies are located in Sierra Vista.

Hi Naturebob, I just read your post about your father. It was incredibly touching. Congrats on getting drawing an awesome hunt. I wanted to reach out and ask if you would be interested in having your hunt filmed? I have been messing around with my cameras and started filming hunts for others. If you want to check out what it has been looking like, I invite you to my YouTube channel. If hunt our hunts don't cross over, I'd love to come out and film your story. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC59ZCHnW1Ask6VGdh4O3Dug/videos?view_as=subscriber

And if anyone has any taxidermists they'd recommend in either Sierra Vista or Tucson (possibly Phoenix) I'd love to know as I'm looking for either a rug or full mount for this one. Thanks! -
Hey all, I'm wanting to know how easily, or not, a bear will be spooked out of his area. I'm doing my first ever bear hunt and I've had two good bears on camera. They're in an area that has one [known] water source, and they have been hitting it hard for the last two weeks when I started setting up my cameras. They have consistently come in at 7am and 7pm. Well yesterday was my first day out hunting, and one came in (around 6:30pm) but left when, I think, it either heard or smelled us. He just walked off, didn't panic. This morning, my big black one came in, appeared to know something wasn't right but proceeded to drink. I was able to get my pin on him, but he took off when my a cell phone's camera function went off. He ran hard and fast. I know very little about bear behavior, so in your opinions, are these bears gone for good? Do they spook easily? I feel blessed for even having the honor of pulling back on him, but I'm scared they might be done with that area. Hoping for positive, helpful feedback. Thanks!

Manfrotto MVT502AM Tripod & Carrying Case Today, 10:45 AM (per B&H) Product Highlights For 75mm/60mm Half-Ball Video Heads Load Capacity: 33 lb Max Height: 56.5" Min Height: 22.44" Folded Length: 24.21" Leg Sections: 3 Weight: 4.23 lb Built-In Carrying Handle Aluminum Construction I've used this tripod for a glassing/optics tripod and for filming hunts. Works perfectly for switching between both. One of the leg extensions slips when locked but I'm thinking this could be a cheap/easy repair. I just never needed to fix it. Everything else operates fine. Has cosmetic scratches but nothing that affects the operation. Asking $150.

Originally $350, asking $200. Great hunting binos. Few cosmetic scratches but nothing affecting performance. Glass is still good. Missing Front eye covers but those can be ordered from Nikon.

Yes, if you're near Tucson or Sierra Vista, message me and I can aid in the search this weekend. Good luck! -
Hey all, I'd like to begin bear hunting and would love some advice on where to start, what I'll need, etc. I feel like it's a spot and stalk kind of thing, as I won't be running dogs. I also know that it is very difficult without dogs, but I just won't use them. So is spot and stalk correct? I got my first bear on a trail cam yesterday (that I wasn't expecting) and was so stoked! But now I'm wondering how to keep up with them-- seems like they occupy a large range, whereas I'm used to coues deer that live in a much smaller area. I'm really looking forward to your guys' help. My cameras are set up in 35a, but from the regs, I'm understanding that it's archery only between Aug 25-Oct 5th? No rifle? What is average/optimal range for archery bear? Thanks so much!

Can anyone tell me how much a setup with the BTX costs? I haven't used Swarovski, so I don't quite know all of their pieces, names, etc--sorry!

Key things you've learned about hunting coues deer in Dec/Jan
leilacl posted a topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Hey you guys, Even though it's several long months away, I am getting so excited to hunt archery coues this winter. Last year I couldn't recover the buck I shot, so I'm eager to get my first coues deer! I have absolutely loved reading all your stories and pieces of advice, but I'd love to deliberately ask what is the one key thing you've learned while hunting coues with your bow? I've had a few guys tell me that I shouldn't waste my time sneaking up on them, and to just wait on water or in a tree, but my heart is set on the spot and stalk. Last year, I primarily struggled with sneaking up on them (busting them at 50, 60 yards) and or not knowing when to go after them upon seeing them, or wait. But I'm excited to hear what you experts have to say . Thanks so much! -
Thanks for starting this thread, and to all those that replied! Got my hopes up just a bit
