    Opinions,

Good info right there. Very handy tip. For anybody wanting to give it a try there is an advanced version of the technique where you drape the chain over the tire and then drive onto the block.

    Opinions,

If you're going to chain your truck cut a piece of 4 x 4 that will fit between the rails and crossbars of the chains when they're laid out flat and straight. Lay the chain out can place the four by four a few sections up from one end. Drive up on to the 4 x 4 then pull the long end of the chain up and over the top of the tire to connect to the other end. Tighten up the chain and drive off the 4 x 4. It's a trick we used to chain up tractor trailers.

Deer vs Hunter - Kinda unexpected

Is the deer required to butcher his kill and save the meat or is he allowed to just trophy hunt?

    Opinions,

ATV / UTV ? Chains are usually pretty easy to install if the vehicle is jacked up and the tire is off the ground. You got to do that to change the tire anyway. If I were only going to run 2 Chains I would put them on the rear axle.

    Nosler accubond LR any reviews?

I bought a box of them and quickly concluded the publish BC was a bunch of crap. I think Litz may have tested some ABLR bullets and come up with more realistic BC's for them.

    Monkey butt powder.

Have you ever seen those cans of monkey butt powder that some motorcycle and ATV shops have? It's supposed to make your rear end feel better after you've been riding too long. Does anybody make something like that for your eyes after you've been glassing too long?

    Monkey butt powder.

I went scrounging through camp this morning for something that might work and I found a tube of Carmex. It's working great so far this morning. If I had not thought to give it a try your suggestion would have definitely just made the rest of my hunt a lot more comfortable. Thanks for the input.

    Monkey butt powder.

I have tried a number of things over the years. They have either attracted dirt or caused irritation if they get in the eye. Hopefully I can find something that doesn't do either of those.

    Monkey butt powder.

I'm not sure I want to know.

    Monkey butt powder.

^^^ this right here, I had switched over to Swartz and fixed the problem It's not a glass or mount issue. I have always put the eye cups of binoculars lightly in contact with the area around my eyes. For some reason it's a habit I can't seem to break. After 3 days straight my eyes are sore again. Zeke-Be is on the right track.

    Long range scopes

I used to try to do that with my lever action 22 when I was a kid. It really hurts when you slam the lever back closed and catch your trigger finger between the lever and the end of the trigger. Guess I was no Chuck Connors.
  16. you should not have Crush marks in the scope tube from the Rings. If this occurs it's an indication that the Rings were not machined to the proper diameter and or the two bores do not align. I would check any ring with alignment gauges before mounting a scope to make sure that does not happen. I've never encountered a set of high-quality rings that were not well aligned I've rarely encountered a set of low-quality rings that were well aligned. With machine work you get what you pay for.
  17. Higher quality material and work precise Machining would be the two main reasons. Place a pair of alignment gauges in a high-end pair of rings that have not been lapped and they will often align. In the cheaper rings they often will not and quite a bit of lapping is required to achieve alignment.

    Blocking FS Road !!!

I ran into pretty much the same thing coming out of the heck's Gate Wilderness years back. Which them off the trail and left them high-centered on a boulder

    Blocking FS Road !!!

Game and fish is always spread thin often only one officer per unit. That's not strictly a hunting issue he's willfully obstructing a public right-of-way on public land. That is something the sheriff can handle and there's a lot more Sheriff deputies available. I would call them also.

    Blocking FS Road !!!

If you just happened to have enough guys to do it and a good set of tools wouldn't it be fun to disassemble the roadblock and move it out of the way piece by piece? I'm sure the look on that morons face when he came back and saw a pile of parts and a clear road would be priceless. What could you be accused doing that was illegal? You encountered an obstruction placed in a public right of way and carefully disassembled it and set it aside without damaging it. The whole thing was just to heavy to carry in one piece.
  22. You can go lighter but you get to compromise. I've got a 700 that is 7 lb 8 oz field ready. I use an NSX compact 2.5-10x42 that is probably about 8 oz lighter. I also have a 20 in number 1 Barrel. Lightweight was my priority when I built it. At 8 lb 11 oz and shooting groups like pictured above that rifle is one sweet package. And I just got done telling myself I wasn't going to build another rifle......
  23. Congratulations to the young lady. It seems like she will have some competition in a few years. The little one has her eyes on the prize also.
  24. If I'm not mistaken Schneider still supplies barrels to the USMC sniper program. That's not a crowd that's going to be very tolerant of a barrel that does not shoot well.
