Plan A was a success. The razor is back at the toy hauler.

I have not seen them but the most likely cause is improper heat treating during manufacturing that left the part either to soft or to brittle. I have seen a number of fastener failures on Polaris products resulting from improper heat treating. Guess # 2 is loose lug nuts.

All I have had to do so far sit under a shade tree, sip my iced tea and give a little advice. He got the two studs the dealer had in stock and is looking for the 27mm socket you need to get the hub off. If he gets it he thinks he can go replace the studs by himself. If he need help I'll head in. If he doesn't find the socket I have it here. If the studs won't drive by hand we have a press. I've had my share breakdowns out in the sticks. I Have got his back, we'll get it out.

Issue is all the studs sheared on one hub. Family is all back at toy hauler and he is headed to the dealer for parts. Plan A is to replace the studs and drive it out.

I have never done an elk hunting unit 1. Before the wallow Fire are used to spend the last week of August in 1 & 27 for archery deer and turkey. I have seen it snow there a number of times in August. I've also done a number of spring and fall turkey hunts in those mountains. The weather can be very volatile and change rapidly. Imagine the temperature dropping 30 degrees midday within a half an hour. Make sure you have what you need to keep yourself comfortable so you can enjoy the hunt.

I have been in 4B since Friday. I heard my first bugle this morning. It was a very half-hearted effort.

It says there is two point one miles of little Colorado Canyons. I don't see a square mileage figure for the ranch. I had an NM Antelope tag on a public land Ranch and was confined to 100 square miles. It felt pretty small.

They both look good. If you look at the choice from a tactical standpoint I think the Woodland pattern would be the better choice in Arizona. Woodland patterns often blend into the Sonoran Desert with, all of its plant life, better than many desert patterns and of course we do have plenty of woods.

I spent the morning stalking a spike and couldn't pull that off. Nice to see someone was out there getting it done in style.

Now that is kind of funny because after reading your post in the other thread you were the first person I thought of when I read the OP in this thread.

When I started pack hunting I would load my pack with everything I thought I needed and weigh it. Then I would sit down with a scale, unload it and weigh everything. When you start judging things by usefulness vs weight You will keep the most necessary items and discard the not so necessary ones. Your pack becomes lighter. I knew what every individual item in my pack weighed. Compare notes with other members and eliminate duplicate items where possible. Not everyone needs their own stove. Mountain house meals are pretty good. Lithium batteries are lighter and last much longer than alkaline. Look for multi use items. We carried water proof windbreakers and no rain poncho. Cache water on a scouting trip. It will probably be the heaviest part of the groups load. Hang it, mice will chew through containers on the ground. My partner and I got it to where we could operate up to 5 days in the wilderness. With excess water dumped and garbage burnt one of us could carry all the gear and the other could pack an animal out. Good memories, we are both a little to old and beat up to push it that hard anymore.

I always love to get new additions to my collection. Unfortunately as to what city I live in, it's all the way up here in Vernal Utah. I've never been coues hunting. It's just been a dream of mine. One that will probably be a long time in the making of ever. So instead I joined this site so I can live vicariously through you folks. The distance can be overcome. Do you have a list of what you have?

Put it up. I have to get my collection unpacked and back on display. I think I figured out a way to do it so I don't have a 600 pin bowling alley where all the pins have to be in a specific order when they get set back up. I have a box of stuff I give away and/ or trade but it has been so long I have no idea what is in it.

This spring I took a veteran on a turkey hunt with Hunts for Heroes. After we got his bird I headed to the next unit over where Tom was by himself with 2 vets. Joe, the vet I had guided, insisted on coming to help also. when we got there Joe and I took one of the vets out hunting. At some piont this vet commented "I wish I could just see a turkey. Joe replied "Go look in my cooler".

My partner and I shoot the same bow. When he does something stupid and knows it it's easy to tell. He gets this look on his face like the guilty puppy that peed on the carpet again. One year I got an elk. We moved up set our gear on a log and started dressing it. We could hear another herd coming right towards us so he grabbed his gear and went to get himself an elk. He returned a little while later with that sheepish look on his face and placed my left-handed bow back on the log next to his right hand model. Would love to have seen the look on his face when he tried to knock an arrow and draw.
