I run 250 grain Barnes TEZ w/ 100 grains of 777. Everything I've shot at, whitetail and elk, has died. That said, I shot my last whitetail at about 30 yard broadside and the bullet stuck in the underneath skin on the opposite side...made me question how much energy might be lacking.

About 12 years back I used a guy named Web Parton. I think he's written a book(s) on bird hunting in AZ. We did it in the parking lot at Sportsmans warehouse in Deer Valley. if he's still doing it, I would recommend him. He was a pleasure to watch the traning.

take an oversize duffel and maybe add a plywood interior frame?

Awesome hunt. Some giant bucks, but the deer are really pockety. It could be cool and clear, rainy, windy or snow. All of it its possible, or all 4.

I have a 95 yeti and 45 pelican. Both work great, pelican cheaper but heavier by alot. Its the 1st gen model. For the price, pelican, canyon or rtic but honestly the yeti is still the best. I wish I could say otherwise.

more muzzleloader hunts and fewer rifle hunts for later season whitetail and elk.

I have a Ruger American Ranch in 17hmr, I enjoy it alot but its not what I would call a fine piece of craftsmanship. Nothing against it though.
Howa Carbon looks cool in a 223, under $1k.
