Doesn't happen! it does...the odds are really terrible...but it can happen. Must have put in by himself? Yes.....Solo Applicant In 2011 there were 535 1st and 2nd choice applicants for those 75 tags. Those aren't terrible odds for a 3rd choice they're impossable. Over the years I've heard of some weird things happening in the draws, this might just be another one I can't understand so I choose to believe (right or wrong) you put it as your 2nd choice. Just my opinion. Either way , NIce tag, Congrats!

Right on!! Look at all the whites being found by horn hunters right now, which means they've been laying around for a year or more and nobody saw them. I like glassing for horns vs. walking, then I do the hikeing and find a few while going after the ones I've glassed.

Correct.. The problem at that point becomes. A. If more than one person in your household applied and only one hit....who got drawn B. If you had a hit on your card, did you get your A choice or B choice( there isn't much to expect from 3rd to 5th choices.) So to sum it up, a lot of us know there will be a tag in the family, it's just killing us not knowing who or where.

I think the shells are a lot more important than the gun. When I first started hunting turkeys 3 years ago a friend gave me 4 shells, they've worked out very well but decided I should have a few more so bought a box a couple of weeks ago. So now I have my original 4 shells plus a box, we'll see this year how that works out! Hope someone can give you more insight on what gun to buy, so far mine has worked out well for my needs.
