Definitely over 40. Great catch!
-
I recently installed Google nest battery cams at my place. Super easy to install, connect to home wifi and viewable through the Google Home app. The videos are clear and crisp with solid nighttime range and the subscription is only ~$60 a year. Been very happy so far, the downside to the battery cams vs wired in is having to recharge them. My driveway cams which catch a lot of street action need to be recharged about every 4-5 weeks and other cams last only as long as ~2.5-3 months. That's too much of a pain in the *ss so I have solar panels on order that should eliminate this issue but do add to the cost a bit. There's also a Google doorbell with cam that could be a "two birds with one stone" option. Very easy to mount and wire in as well. Camera is great on that one as well. Costco has really good deals on 3 packs of the cameras.

You looking at archery, muzzle or rifle hunts?
-
Nothing here...again. But a NR buddy with a horse shoe up his *ss and 3 bonus points drew either 23 or 10 early archery so at least I'll be out there chasing bugles!

I predominately hunt and camp alone. When I'm alone I can really immerse myself 110% into the hunt. Every decision becomes my own, how far I hike and how hard I hunt is solely on me. I enjoy that aspect. But my favorite hunt of the year is with a buddy and we always camp together and most days will hunt together as well. The camaraderie is refreshing and time around the camp fire at night is second to none. Both are great, I probably need to do a better job of mixing both styles.

That's a ridiculous antler! Great find. You should get out there and do some more laps and try to match it up

I could big time get behind more primitive hunts and weapon limitations.

I prefer winter over the summer olympics so I'd like to be watching but haven't (not out of protest) just too darn busy.

Unit 22 bull elk tags 1,300 some perspective
high rise hunter replied to AZBIG10's topic in The Campfire
This unit could grow giants. I understand the need for opportunity and as not everyone is chasing age class but it makes me wonder what it could be. -
I certainly glass them up most frequently in the mornings and to a lesser degree in the evenings. Mid-day is almost always bumping them outta their beds while covering country.

I picked up leftover for 15A/B. Honestly didn't even know there were javi that far north 🤷♂️

In my experience going to any vendor other than an AZGFD office is completely f*ucked. I'm been sold permits from past years, wrong permits, told incorrect information so many times it makes my blood pressure spike just thinking about it. Sorry to hear you'll be missing precious hunting time on such an abbreviated season for you. Good luck, shoot straight and often. Hopefully permit sales do move to online in the near future.

Holy, the frame on that spit G3 buck is more than enough for me. Done deal right there. Fantastic pics, thanks for sharing.

Big Ram Down!!! New unit record
high rise hunter replied to buglethemin's topic in Bighorn Sheep Hunting
Wow that last photo really puts his mass into perspective. What a giant. Congrats a thousand times! -
That's awesome. Unforgettable memory for your son...and you as well. Congrats!

Whoa 😳 That is crazy! Thanks for sharing.

Been thinking the same thing. What's the delay?
-
For that 2nd choice hunt I got tag number 166. (Which would have been in the first 20% of tags issued for that hunt.)
-
Yes, I did draw 2nd choice but that's the archery hunt that always has the most leftovers.
-
Holy crap. I can't believe I didn't draw my 1st choice javelina. That should be a gimme, especially with 2 bonus points going in.

Any Border Issues 36C ?
high rise hunter replied to EagleEye's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Lots and lots of illegal traffic through there and some of the scary stuff. Like already said, try to camp near others (Elkhorn is good), bring valuables with you and leave water outside your truck as goodwill. -
Got it Done Again - Old and Gnarly
high rise hunter replied to GreyGhost85's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Old and gnarly indeed! Congrats, super sweet buck! -
Captivating writing up and better ending. Thanks for sharing. Beautiful antler color and love how those beams curl back in. Headed to So TX mid-Dec and would be tickled pink to duplicate your success.
